This Tea House was a disappointment in every way. I called to reserve a table for 3 for a special three generational luncheon tea with my 93 year old mother, my newly engaged daughter and myself a few weeks ago. Last weekend I took a 2 hour trip to see the VT Tea House to make a dry run and visit to make sure everything would be seamless. When I arrived I noticed that the handicapped access ramp they told me that I inquired about was blocked by two garbage bins and a car in front of it.
I went inside and told them that I had made a reservation for the following Saturday at 11:30 I also mentioned and was concerned about the wheelchair access for Saturday (March 18th). The waitress looked for the reservation and said that she didn't see it. A women came up to the counter to buy some tea and I said I could wait for her to get her tea, she kept serving the other customers there when a second waitress came out and the first waitress said thatshe couldn't find my reservation but was finally told there was an opening on that date and time we could still get in. She also told me the trash cans would be moved and that she would park somewhere else so the space would be available.
Today, March 18th I showed up with my 93 year old mother and my lovely daughter. who will not only be getting married soon but leaving the state. We were so happy to finally be there. But things didn't look right when I pulled in. The the trash cans were in front of the ramp and there no other cars in front...I went up to the front door to find it locked and no lights on inside. I knocked on the door then I called two different numbers that were on the door to try to reach someone. I left messages about the situation and requested a return call. I went to the side door and knocked no sign of life there either. It is almost 9 pm, no call back, no message on my email nothing....
For the record, we did not have the lunch at the Tea House (obviously) and the Tea House did not get the $100 plus I would have spent there as the tea as luncheon was $30 per person . They did not the tip I would have left or the profit from the tea I would have likely bought for us to take home. And we did not get the special memory at the Vermont Tea House we were hoping for or the precious time that was lost ....for my mother, my daughter driving two hours to get there and then her trip back to Keene as well as my extra trip last weekend to make sure everything was in place.

Two of us had gone there for lunch. Laura, the owner/manager was so gracious and explained everything to us and the food was exceptional. This is definitely a must stop in Chester.

What a delightful visit to this wonderful tea house. It was fun to share high tea with my friend in such a lovely setting. Everything was delicious, the presentation beautifully done and we both found treasures in the gift shop. Laura is a special young lady who blessed us with her gentle spirit as well as her knowledge about tea.

This place is very well decorated with many items to buy teas , teapots, and cups, wind chimes made of teacups and saucers, spoons. Very unique. Tables have a stack of china teacups to choose from for your flavor of tea. We had the sweet treat tray.very nice for two. Oh and the clotted cream is a must have.

Three of us enjoyed a wonderful Full Tea Service (high tea), with numerous tea selections, fresh salad, homemade soup, tasty scones, finger sandwiches and desserts. Service was efficient, attentive and very pleasant. There are many teas and gifts displayed around the store at reasonable prices. What better way to spend an afternoon!

We had Afternoon Tea. The food was delicious. The zucchini parmesan soup was a favorite. The service was great and the staff are very accommodating. Will definitely stop in again.

Came here to get some magic blue tea and stayed for tea service! The cream tea is really the star here. All of the scones are delicious and served hot, the clotted cream is luxurious and slightly tangy, the lemon curd is creamy and tart, and the tea itself is flavorful and high-quality.
The loose-leaf tea gets packaged in these sealed containers that are very cool, and the selection is incredible! The decor and gifts are all beautiful and whimsical. Really a fun experience.

Had the pleasure to visit this tea house yesterday. On a day trip from Massachusetts. Went to chester just to go here. It was 100 percent worth the visit, and will return. Scones were warm and delicious clotted butter creamy. Lemon curd just tart enough. I believe the owners were cooking and serving. Adorable atmosphere. Great place make sure you go! Oh, and the pot of tea was tasty too!

I saw this location on a FB post for a Creme Tea event and had to try it. Beautiful setting with very friendly ladies inside. I had a pot of Midsummer's Night Dream tea and two delicious cranberry scones. My friend had the Blueberry scones with the Equalitea tea. It smelled so fantastic inside that I got three different teas to take home. If you like tea this is a top notch place to go!!

My partner and I had a wonderful experience here! Each table has unique tea cup choices, so choose your table wisely! The tables were also spaced out nicely, creating a more intimate atmosphere with your company. I had Laura's sweet tea, which had a lovely assortment of treats and little desserts accompanying my pot of tea! I was very relieved to see that the decaf teas are NOT chemically decaffeinated as they are at most places. The scones were delightful, as were the accompaniments (lemon curd, clotted cream, and preserves). There was also an option to add honey to your tea if you didn't want to use the sugar cubes at the table. The gift shop is spread out around the room, with the sweetest little candles, jewelry, clothing, etc. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
