This place is really something special. I’ve stopped there twice on my way through Salt Lake and it’s been excellent both times. I had a latte and a cup of their loose leaf tea. Both were perfection. The owner is an extremely interesting and very knowledgeable guy. Its not the kind of place you go for a quick caffeine boost, it’s the kind of place where you go to genuinely enjoy their products, which border on artistic creations rather than simple coffee and espresso products.

Was very excited to try this place since it looks so nice. Will say that it was clean and very well kept with a very nice interior, even if a bit small.
However, we must have come on an off day, because the service was.... well, just not good. My S.O. and I were made to feel very embarrassed for asking questions about the menu and it seemed like we were unwelcome. We were told that many flavors were out of stock, but not then told which ones were available; when we asked for a flavor, we were just again told that some are out of stock and that the drink couldn't be made.
I only ordered a milk tea out of awkwardness because I was nervous, though I didn't want to order anything after that experience. The milk tea was pretty good, fairly average. At the time I went, there was only almond milk as an alternative to dairy, if you're unable to drink dairy milk.
Service means a lot for an establishment. My S.O. and I thought about our experience many times for the rest of the day and how much it upset us. We had to go to a different café just to pick ourselves up afterward. I don't think I'll be able to come back. Good coffee is obviously the foundation of a café, but service is really important, too, and d'bolla just didn't deliver.

This is a place you go to experience coffee, not just drink it. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and loves to share his story. This is best enjoyed if you have an hour or so to stay.

By far the best coffee I've ever had. Owner is super knowledgeable. This coffee establishment is on a whole different level, and should be afforded time to enjoy and learn.

The $5 single shot was good. You can only order what the shop owner wants you to order. He refused to make my original request. Very off putting, no wonder we were the only customers in there. There are literally 3 things on the menu: espresso, macchiato, latte (which he referred to as a "child's drink"). If you want a drip/brewed coffee his method will take an hour to produce said coffee. Which is fine if you're into that level of boug but coming in off the street, there was no way to know that.

He is the MOST coffee knowledgeable person I have ever met. Coffee in its best form. It is the best because nobody else has his passion for precision.

Any bad reviews are about the barista.. never about the coffee. Realize he is very precise and eccentric... which is a compliment and the reason the coffee is the absolute best

John and his wife are amazing! I have known them for years now, and every time I come in I am always welcomed with kindness. They both deliver not only excellent products but a customized experience with a focus on developing your pallet according to your taste. Hands down my favorite coffee place. I would highly recommend visiting with an open mind and an adventurous spirit.

Honestly the best espresso I've ever had. The experience was made even better watching the owner work his magic fine tuning the grind and chatting throughout the process. Highly recommend.

Best coffee I ever had. Was in SL for three days and went there every day. The owner is extremely knowledgeable in everything coffee and so much more. Go in with an open mind. This is not a typical coffee shop. It is the real deal and the coffee you'll have will be unlike any other!
