“This is the place”, (for espresso on this planet. Yes the owner is awkward, very talkative and certainly unique. If you ever had a question about coffee, he has the answer. The espresso itself defies description: The variety of beans, all single sourced and Ristes by hand by the owner on the spot, ground to perfection and expressed by a master of the craft… Go for the experience and expect to pay what you get: Precious espresso

Easily the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to. I live in Portland currently, but even up against Portland shops, Caffe D’bolla beats them out. I enjoyed a lovely espresso, but that’s only half of it. I spent a few hours talking with the owner about coffee. I always learn a ton as we get deep into different topics every time. The shop is at least twice as expensive as anywhere else around, but it’s absolutely worth it.

Loved my experience here. The owner and patrons were very friendly and I enjoyed my espresso. I will be back for more!

I had a great experience here. The guy behind the counter (not sure if he's the owner?) knew so much about coffee, and we had a lot to talk about since my bf and I both spent a few years in Japan. The coffees range from $10-$24 (for the siphon coffee), while the espresso drinks are $4-$6. Definitely on the pricy side, but hearing about the coffee you're drinking, seeing it made in the cool siphon coffee makers is truly a unique experience. They also serve boba tea, which seemed to be very popular among the customers who came in.

If you're coming here for the siphon coffee, be prepared to spend 1 hour or more, since the brewing itself takes around 40 minutes. Also, if you want something fun to eat, try the black sesame toast! Sesame spread is very popular in Japan and Taiwan, and it's a fun variant.

Easily the best espresso you will ever have!! John is amazing and enjoyable to visit with while having some of his espresso. Great place!

Yikes. Are these midget beans or premature picks? Anyway, they appear smaller than the usual beans I pick up elsewhere... I know theres a lot of hype around this brand and for other coffeenistas, it may work out for them

I received a bag from this much talked up coffee place for a gift. I was so psyched until..., I opened the bag and beheld what looked like midget beans. Dry. Not so aromatic. I'll stick with the tried and true from my regular coffee haunt.

If you want an exceptional coffee, this is the place. The barrista/owner may appear quirky, but he is a great guy obsessed with all things coffee. I like that. His passion is not to everyone's liking, but then most people aren't out for good coffee either. Full marks from me for having one of the best, if not the best coffee in SLC.

Had a wonderful experience stopping by here for the first time. From the baristas very professional explanation of available flavors and sources, the relaxing environment, to the rich balanced taste of my latte. I give 5 stars with no reservations! ☕️😊
