I wouldn’t eat here again. Pros: house coffee was pretty good, the service we received from our waitress was welcoming and attentive. No complaints whatsoever. The house salad was fresh, apart from the canned beets.
Cons: My biggest complaint is the Heath code violations. The door to the kitchen was wide open and from our booth, I had clear view of where the older woman was cooking the food. I watched her put bacon on the grill with her bare hands, then immediately open the refrigerator door and grab 2 slices of bread and cheese for my 7 year old daughter’s grilled cheese. I continued to watch and she never washed her hands or put on gloves the entire time we were there.
The salmon and haddock we ordered was frozen, not fresh, and the “scone” we were served was actually just fried pizza dough that had gone sour. There was nothing scone like about it.
I’m including pictures of the salmon dinner, haddock dinner, and “scone”. We were going to order desserts because they’re advertised as homemade, but after seeing their kitchen practices with the raw pork, we decided it was safer to skip it. Our bill for 3 adult entrees and one kids meal was $54, so it’s fairly reasonable, but I wouldn’t take my chances with food poisoning at this cafe.

The food is good! Home town cooking with real mashed potatoes and amazing Utah scones-fried bread. Better than my mom cooks. Welcome and warm. I will always stop here if I am traveling on highway 89. Very nostalgia. Brings back the time when life was slower.
Support local!!!! God bless this place!

Tasty, classic diner food. We went for brekky and were not disappointed! Had the classic eggs/bacon/hash breakfast, an omelette, and a hot cake. All was delicious, and the coffee was never empty. 👌 Cute little town it's in, and definite diner vibes. Friendly and fast service to top off a great experience!

It's okay food & service. Not real friendly, but they do the job. The desserts though get 5 stars. My family & I eat a meal there about once a year, but dessert is worth facing the grouchy staff a few times a year. Really, I'd eat there more often if they were friendlier. Friendly is at a HUGE deficit there. It is wheelchair friendly.

Stop here! I'm so glad we did. The raspberry butter "scone" (more like a donut) lives up to its almost 5 star review and "famous" title. It is so delicious!

The restaurant as a whole was better than your typical ma and pop cafe. The country friend steak was so so, but the gravy that was lick the plate good. The green beans were buttery delicious. The portions were on the smaller side if you have a big appetite, but they have a variety of desserts that you can fill yourself with, or just order 2 raspberry butter scones.

FYI it took a little bit for our scones to come out, but they were straight out of the oven fresh, so if yours takes a little while too just know they are worth the wait.

Mmm-mm-mm! Best chicken-fried steak & mashed potatoes I've had since leaving Texas. Tasty clam chowder. Portions were very generous, contrary to some reviews. Very friendly service. Reasonable prices. Only suggestion would be to swap out the green beans with carrots, corn or peas. Definitely will return my next trip through southern Utah.

Love this old and unique restaurant.
Home cooking at its best.

Everything here was made the old fashioned way, by hand. I had the pot roast, which I highly recommend. I'm usually not a pot roast mashed potatos kind of guy but I'm glad I gave it a try. It was deliciously flavorful. The staff were friendly and the food came out quickly. The meal comes with a scone and honey butter. It was fantastic! I highly recommend you give this historic place a try.

Wonderful food and kind service. Thank you so much. The chicken fried steak, salad and flat iron steaks (I didn’t eat all of this..) were great!
