Rocking V Cafe

A friend I hadn't seen since highschool was coming to Best Friends Animal Society for a horse clinic. We were SO excited to catch up and enjoy a nice dinner together. I made reservations for us at the Rocking V, otherwise I knew it was not likely we could get in last minute. When my friend's clinic ran late, I was bummed to have to cancel our reservation. By a miracle, there happened to be a cancellation for a table at a slightly later time so we jumped on that and were so glad to still get in for dinner! I had a beer and the burger and my friend had the four cheese lasagna, there was absolutely no room for dessert. We were more than satisfied with our beautiful and tasty meals. The spirit of team work and hospitality was alive and well at the Rocking V, we were tended to beautifully while allowed to enjoy our time together. We are fortunate to have such a cool place to get a great meal in Kanab!! Thank you Rocking V!!

Servers and staff were super nice. They have a great selection of beer and a great view of you sit outside. The art gallery upstairs is nice. The food was ok. I got a ribeye and ordered it rare. It wasn't rare and was grainy. I would consider myself a good judge of steak since I have a commercial dry age refrigerator at home and hang primals all the time. My wife and daughter got chicken and it was pretty good. Loved the lemonades. Great flavor. Give it a try. I may have just hit it at an off time.

Twelve archaeologists stumbled into town after three days of intense off trail hiking and the Rocking V Cafe quickly became our Valhalla stocked with refreshing milk and sweet, sweet honey. Not actual milk and honey; that’s a metaphor, for heaven’s sake. But the food and drink options here are absolutely phenomenal, worthy of a Viking feast after a long and difficult session of plundering and pillaging.

For the first time in my life I was presented with a food menu where every entree available spoke to me personally. I had a very difficult time deciding what to eat, yet, hypocritically, deciding what to eat was no chore at all. Everything sounded so good that I didn’t regret my decision for a millisecond.

On my first night I chose the Magic Mushroom Madness, a delectable grilled portobello mushroom sandwich that was to die for. The mashed potato side was hefty and tasty, although a pinch under seasoned. I recommend more butter, salt, or a little dill.

On my second visit I ordered the Deep Dish Grilled Veggie Enchilada, and OMG it was phenomenal. Best enchilada I’ve ever eaten? Perhaps. And I’ve had a plethora of enchiladas in my time. Not traditional, by any means, but it paid the perfect tribute to this stalwart traditional Mexican dish.

I’ve literally waited years to try this place and I’m so glad I finally had the opportunity. This might very well be my favorite restaurant on planet earth. The service was fantastic, the ambience is homey and inviting, and the food is, in my opinion, worthy of a Michelin star.

My only gripe is the goddamn raven on the men’s restroom. I was dumbfounded while looking for the toilet, seeing the obvious “W” on the women’s water closet and finding a locked door next to it with a raven on it. So I pissed in the women’s restroom, apparently, not knowing that a raven somehow represented us men. I felt stupid and confused, but I definitely wasn’t the only one. Fix that and the Rocking V Cafe might become the Center of the Gastronomical Universe.

Got the Ed and Red hummus, Southwest salad (one with chicken and one with tofu). Lots of options and staff was friendly. Fast and delicious!

Great restaurant in Kanab. I had the adobe chicken, it was delicious and the cheesecake for dessert also really good. The staff was really friendly.

Food was tasty, however, wish they would have had more dietary friendly meals and desserts. The curry was super yummy! Regardless, would go back again and would definitely recommend to a friend! Was definitely satisfied when I left.

This is possibly one of the best restaurants I have been.
We were a bit early around 4.30 pm. Once we saw the sign that dine in is available only at 5 we turned back and started walking. The restaurant manager came outside and requested us to come inside and was willing to get us seated early. He was extremely nice and sat us near a window with the best possible view of the mountains.
The food and drinks were just amazing. We had the deep dish veggie enchilada, Adobe chicken and magic mushroom madness. Everything was good especially the Adobe chicken. We had the bread pudding for dessert. It’s just out of the world. The bread is soft soaked with their whiskey sauce topped with fresh cream.
I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re around the area. Can’t go wrong with it

Flew in from Phoenix cause we heard this place was amazing. Did not disappoint! Will definitely be back! Got the Kanab-A-Dabba-Doo burger with their mashed potatoes. Was simply perfect.

This meal was so good! Where do I start? The four-cheese lasagna was AMAZING. I could taste the cheese and meat-the best part was that it stayed warm the whole time I was eating it! One of the people who I was dining with ordered the bison burger, and I tried a bit. It was light and very flavorful. The owner was helping out with the waiters and waitresses and talked to the diners, and he gave us great recommendations for hiking. (The Maze Hike was EPIC and the petroglyphs were beautiful-the drive was worth it!) The waitress we had was very attentive and personable. Over all, we had amazing service. The next time we’re in Kanab, we’ll come back without thinking!

Nice atmosphere with an interesting medley of Mexican, American, Italian, and other cuisines. Great vegetarian options as well.
