Love this place! A great throwback to the whole old fashioned diner! Great home style food, friendly and fast service. Try the soup and sandwich!

Very slow service. They were out of the daily special, which is fine, but the server didn't tell us until already sitting there for twenty minutes. My boy friend ended up ordering something else instead but had to wait until I was almost done with my food. All I had ordered was a beef sandwhich with pickles on it and a bowl of soup, it came out three times because it was made wrong every time (only reason it was sent back was because it had onions on it and I am allergic), the server also got my drink wrong. On top of that she spent the whole time complaining about how much she hated her job and was talking innaproprietly with her family that came in (normally wouldn't bother me but there were young kids in there). Also I had to follow the server around the restaurant in order to pay. We spent almost two hours there for two cold sandwhiches, one order of fries, and a luke warm bowl of soup. Only reason for the two stars instead of one is because what ever bread they used was pretty good.

The food was all fresh, and home-made. The service was great and the staff was very attentive. We were glad we stopped in for dinner.

Just what to expect from a small town family owned Diner. This is an experience, a restaurant built back in the 30’s. Nothing fancy, no California toast, just a solid diner. Serving the classics.

Great, local diner with excellent breakfast. Hash browns were some of the best I've had on this road trip. I loved listening to locals chat across the booths. True example of rural Utah. Although locals were complaining about recent changes, it felt like we had walked into the Utah we had lived in 20 years ago.

Best chicken fried steak I've had. Tried many places from all around Salt Lake and Heber, none were as good as Cowan's. The coffee is also great and the waitresses are extraordinarily friendly and attentive. If you're just passing through town on your way somewhere else and your tummy is a grumblin', you'd be amiss to pass up this spot.

The food was good, the service was quick. Efficient and friendly! And the portions for the price were good. Great stop in a small town! Will be back to try lunch!

Great place to stop breakfast or lunch. Sausage patties are huge and sooo good. Left overs are good too.

The best home cooking cafe in Duchesne county. This cafe has history, it's been the one cafe that has been here for decades. They have remained that down home cooking feeling forever. Others have tried but Cowan's has always been in Duchesne city and will be there for the duration. Their employees are great and make it worth the tip, I will say they dont expect it. They are there to please and put up with the public's bull, smile on their faces a still give it their all because they are proud to be a part of Cowan's history in Duchesne. Do leave them that tip, they do need to listen to the public's jokes, gossip and clean up after th brats but it's worth the stop if your passing through. I already know they serve the men their lunches and their families at night. The experience will be worth it.
