Preface- I am not a fan of diner food ( Oscar's in Durango CO is the only exception)- so i want to say that a 4 star review for diner food is really high for me. And if you are a traditional diner food fan you will love this and I recommend trying it.
The service is great. There is definitely a personality here and very dedicated staff. I decided to try Amber Kay's cafe because it has good biscuits and gravy reviews. It was a traditional biscuits and gravy- peppered with light sausage. It wasn't over seasoned ( I needed to add a little more salt and pepper). Biscuit was warm, gravy was whole ( not broken- a sign that it was prepared well).
The potato hash tasted a little to oily for me and need a little more internal crispiness and seasoning ( remember how i mentioned i am not a fan of diner food? Slight crisp slight squish is a Hallmark of diner's, so i am not knocking it just saying it's not for me). I think that maybe getting onion powder or garlic would be really good in the hash.
Again, very traditional diner food. Large portions good prices. Intentionally under seasoned so you add your own salt. Not for me but very solid for what it is.
Quaint and small town diner. The place was packed at 8:45 am. We are driving through town and stopped in for breakfast. We are highly satisfied with the choice. I ordered the biscuit and gravy meal. The biscuits were large, the gravy was flavorful, and the eggs were perfectly scrambled. They weren't over cooked and rubbery; they were soft and silky.
My spouse ordered the french toast. She was equally satisfied. We would happily stop in again the next time we are in town.
Seriously! This Eggs Benedict was the most buttery soft lovely little bit of perfection. This place was an incredible find.
Excellent service, hometown vibe, counter seating, and amazing food at a great price. Everything you want in a diner! Thanks for the breakfast, we’ll be back for sure!
Good omelette, friendly staff, good price for food and coffee, didn't charge to put gravy in my hash browns . The food tasted incredible for dinner food. Came out quick, I came in early, they open an hour earlier than every other joint in town, and have better food. I guess they are moving location so I plan to follow because the staff is going with the owner amber to a new location . I love a good breakfast joint with coffee and old guys. I literally hope to start coming once a week.
It was busy and we had to wait but it was worth every bit. The prices are good and the portions are large. We had 7 people in our party and it was the 1st time for all of us. We all enjoyed the food and the service. We will be back.
Found this gem walking down Main Street Cedar city! It was chilly out and we were looking for something warm. We were immediately greeted by a very nice lady in a cute diner, she made my family and I 3 delicious hot chocolates. Thank you for your friendly service. We will definitely be back for breakfast or lunch.
This place was unbelievable. In a Great way! It is a funky diner that looks like nothing special. That's where it all changes. From the friendly almost inviting you to be a part of the family attitude from the waitress to the conversations with locals (who obviously call this home) to the amazing food served quickly and plentifully. I asked our waitwaitress for suggestions off the menu and she suggested three that are my all time favorites. I had to narrow to one and had the biscuits and gravy. To DIE for. Tomorrow we are heading back and I am trying one of the other two. I wish we were staying another day so we could try more. Can't recommend it enough. Love this place. Who would have guessed it would be a five star but it is.
Great place for a quick counter breakfast! Eggs of all kinds, breakfast meats, enormous biscuits - and they serve breakfast until they close at 2 pm. Come after 9 am for the best choice of seats...
Locals know there is parking in back, but at busy times you still need to come through the restaurant to the front and put your name and number of guests in the book to get a table when one is free. For extra exercise, you can park across Main Street in the Towne Center, and cross at the pedestrian walk light just a little south of the cafe.
I came here for my birthday and ordered the philly steak sandwich. It was delicious especially if you ask for blue cheese dressing. We told the waitress it was my birthday and she gave me one of my favorite memories. She brought out a Twix and put a candle in it. She was super sweet and really took care of us. This place is amazing and the staff are super sweet and attentive. Definitely would recommend if you can make it during their hours
