Brown House Cafe

We had a very nice meal with 24 people at the table. Melissa took care of our group with no meal mistakes and no bill problems. Not easy to do. Even with 24 people, food was very timely and very good!

4 Stars only because I came here expecting exactly what I got. A somewhat homey atmosphere with a small town vibe. Was put off by the strip center it's built into because I was hoping for a shack with a cafe in it.

Honest opinion, this place could use some seasoning and the folks working here could use a pick me up... Pretty dreary vibe and plenty of weird tension across the counter

This place needs to have someone at the front who knows what they are doing to seat people. We was told 30min wait. Waiting longer than that and she still did not seat us. Every table she could put six people she kept giving to walk in parties of 2 and 4. Sadly we will not go back

The food is wait is worth it. The food is home cooking. We all had a little bit of everything lunch, dinner appetizers. All way delicious. Thank you for accommodating 14 of us

Carries a diner feel while being in a more convenient location. Food was really good and the breakfast menu was very standard. They did have chicken and pancakes instead of waffles but the combo was still great.

I read several of the negative reviews and we had the opposite experience. All of the food and service was excellent. The cinnamon role is amazing and our food was perfect. The black rifle coffee was my wife's favorite. We have another place we go from time to time when were in town and the coffee at the other places is enough to drive us away. We look forward to returning next time were in the area.

It was delicious! Their eggs were great! They even have Black Rifle Coffee.

This is only my second time at this location. I had a burger which was outstanding, juicy, very fresh. For me an excellent burger. The other meal was the " left over pot roast", tender and a great portion. Gravy was a little salty, but that per our tastebuds. Definitely worth a trip back. BTW, the wait staff was superb.

Our family loves Brown House Cafe and have always enjoyed our meals from there. However, with that being said, I ordered a steak (due to needing a gluten free option) and it was horrible. Looked like it was microwaved, wasn’t seasoned and just was very weird tasting. I instantly regretted ordering a steak from a cafe but again my options are limited. I even think the server knew the steak was bad after I tried to cover up the fact that I didn’t eat much of it at all. She asked me about it but I couldn’t bring myself to mention it to her just how bad it was. My family did have delicious food and like I said we normally have great food and service, this was just the one bad experience. My advice, just don’t order the $19.00 steak from here.

Visiting Waco from Houston, stopped by on our trip. Lovely little cafe, very homey feel, amazing coffee, service is quick, generous amount of food, not to pricy, good taste. Our waiter Gabriel, was an absolute gentleman. Extremely polite, very positive attitude, quick and attentive, but not so much that you can't eat. Gave him a generous tip and he didn't count it while at the table, which I find more polite, in my opinion. Would definitely visit again and recommend to my traveling friends. 👍 5 stars approved
