While they do carry some of the same books as B&N, they have an interesting array of books B&N doesn't carry. I like the prevalence of comfy seating, though it can get REALLY crowded. Their chai is fantastic, and their Turkish Delight is excellent for coffee lovers. Solid munchies too. Even though it's small it's a high quality bookstore; easily one of the best bookstores I've been in in Texas. If you love books I highly recommend stopping by.

I absolutely loved this place! I always love checking out cute local bookstores whenever I visit somewhere new and Fabled Bookshop and Cafe didn't disappoint. It had a wide variety of books, merchandised and displayed beautifully in front then more shelves in back for those not featured. There were many great employee book recommendations written by the books (I ended up buying three of those because of the recommendations!). I shopped for a bit then sat down with my laptop to get a bit of work done. The cafe has several coffee and tea options, but by far my favorite is they offer beer and wine to order!đ This is definitely my happy place. If you want wifi while you are there, there is a little mug on the Cafe counter with passwords that are good for 2 hours at a time and they offer free water. I definitely recommend this bookstore for anyone in the area!

I stopped in for the first time as I had heard so much good stuff about this place. Itâs amazing! The book selection and personal touches of the handwritten staff picks are so inviting. Itâs so well organized and easy to navigate. They have plenty of cozy spots to sit and relax, study, or have a quick coffee and bite to eat. The childrenâs section is definitely a highlight as well. It made me want to be a kid just to fully enjoy it. I absolutely recommend this place.

Absolutely lovely little (big) book shop and cafe in downtown Waco. The coffee was superb, the coffee cake was yummy, but the decor and whole experience there was everything you hope for when you go to a book shop & cafe. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and it was the perfect spot for me to meet a few friends and hang out for awhile. Next time I'm in the area I'll definitely be back.

Stopped here on a whim during a day trip in Waco. Did not regret it, it's a beautiful store with all the accommodations for any book lover, or just a place to hang out and enjoy the café atmosphere. They don't have the largest book selection, but in any section they have recommended books with personal descriptions from the employees. The accents, like the walk-through wardrobe in the kids area, the dragon in the wall, and the giant owl statue are such great accents. Warning though; the chairs up front will eat you and never let you go.

What a wonderful atmosphere!! In town for just the weekend decided to visit Fabled each day we were in town and then once again on the way out. Fall coffee specials were delicious! The staff made our out-of-town mom group feel welcomed and were helpful with our questions. The books were well organized, you can tell the owner and staff took pride.

If I ever opened a book store, I would want it to like exactly like this. The design is beautiful and simple. They had a good sized selection of books and were very helpful when I needed something. The kids area is so cute, kids can go through a wardrobe to get to it. So many cozy chairs and reading nooks. Great place to get gifts too.

Great bookshop! They have literary inspired coffee drinks and wine available in the evening. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was populated by a lot of Baylor college students and I can understand why. Make sure to check out clearance towards the back, the childrenâs room, and the surprise book options at the front. Hope to come back if Iâm ever in Waco again!

What a find! I love an independent book shop and this is one of the best I've been in. Great vibe, nice little cafe inside, love the children's book area and I wish I lived in the vicinity so I could support this gem. Count yourselves lucky, Waco! Store is clean and the staff is courteous and helpful.

Such a charming independent bookstore. Kids and adults alike will love the Narnia themed wardrobe that leads to the kid's book section. Wonderful selections of books and gifts. The coffee bar is a great addition. The cold chicken salad was a perfect snack on a warm afternoon.
