Our go-to, one-stop resort and outfitter for all things Big Bend National Park. From their lovely casitas and amazing pool to the fabulous river trips and top-notch guide staff who take care of us, Far Flung has become our favorite getaway on the planet!

My husband and I planned a trip to Big Bend 1 month before we arrived, with my Sister-in-law and her husband, we made last minute reservations here at Far Flung Outdoor Casitas. We read the reviews, we looked at images online and had pretty high expectations- to be completely honest this place passed our expectations! It almost seemed too good to be true, but it was completely true and a beautifully peaceful experience like no other. The "Far Flung Family" was so genuinely nice and accommodating. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We are from the city, Austin- so to come here to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city was like Heaven on Earth. Unfortunately we did not get to experience the other activities that Far Flung had to offer, but for me the cabin (Casita), the fire pit under the moon and stars, the rocking chair out on the front patio, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the close distance to Big Bend was enough for me. No complaints. We will definitely need to plan an activity for our next trip. It is only about an hour drive from the Chisos Basin- which was so convenient and about 5 minutes from Terlingua's Ghost Town, which is A MUST SEE. You have to experience that place. It is an inspiring small town. Big Bend's hikes and scenic views was such a treat- I cannot wait to return VERY SOON!! I absolutely loves this place! I would do yourself a favor and go!

Loved staying in our little Casita. Nothing fancy but clean and adequate. Love the porches with the rocking chairs and the flowers everywhere to make it a little Oasis. several excursions with them and they were great. All the staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place.

We took the 3 hour jeep tour (Camp 360) with Dean, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. We have 3 young boys and he was able to keep their attention most of the trip. I would highly recommend this tour and based upon that, I would try to schedule a longer river trip next time we visit.

We did the half day canoe trip. Our guides were organized, very friendly, made sure everyone was comfortable, and provided tons if information on the terrain, history, surrounding area activities, and more. Great trip and great team. Look to do a backpacking tour with them next time.

I went on a half day kayaking trip today with Far Flung out of Terlingua. They picked us up at Lajitas Golf Resort and we were off to the Rio Grande. Great staff, felt very safe, instructions to everyone. Nice slow river, at half way we stopped for snacks. Great conversation, history of the area, they made sure everyone was ok. Nice set of rapids at the end. When we come back thru will be the only river outfitter we will call. Great day!!!

Did an ATV ride (Guide: Devo) and booked guide (Chris) for the Lost Mine Trail tour (used our own car). Both guides were very helpful, fun, and informative. Told us about the area, what things we needed for the tour, and amenable to changes based on our group. Highly recommend using the group again!

This is the third time' I've used Far Flung for a canoe/raft trip and I will continue to come back as long as they keep doing things the same way. The first trip, I took was five years ago and it involved an overnight raft trip through the Boquilles Canyon and an ATV tours. Two years later, I did an overnight canoe through the Santa Elena. This time, it was another trip down the Santa Elena with a group of friends who had never been through the canyon. Far Flung was fantastic.
We stayed the night in a couple of their Casitas. We got to Far Flung in the evening, and they had a pit fire in the middle of the yard which they keep until 11PM. The next morning we got up, walked to the coffee stand at the front of the business. Around 8:15 we met our guides at the front, loaded our things in waterproof bags and set out for the hour trip to the Santa Elena drop off point. We set off for a three mile upstream paddle to a drop off point past Fern Canyon. Along the way we stopped for a lunch provided by the guides - terrific. At the camp site, we unloaded and set up camp. Brandon and Amanda set up the fire pit and worked on dinner (steaks, mashed red potatoes, green beans, and a cake for desert (not kidding)). That night the moon broke over the canyon wall on the US side and lit up the canyon as it crossed to the other canyon wall on the Mexico side.
The next morning, we set off back for the pick up spot down river. Along the way, Brandon took us on a hike in Fern Canyon while Amanda set up lunch. By 2:00 PM we were back at the drop off spot to be picked up. I'm sure I'll be back to Far Flung soon.
