Probably our favorite, and definitely most relaxing day in Big Bend, was floating down the Rio Grande with Far Flung. We had the good fortune of being able to do our one-day float in Santa Elena Canyon last week due to favorable water levels. I've taken many tours at outfits around the world and our guide Jordan was one of the best I've ever had. She was fun, kind, and professional. Not a question was asked all day that she didn't have an answer to - from the area's flora and fauna to the history of the landscape. Her knowledge was only surpassed by her obvious love of the environment and her "office". Far Flung was a great organization to work with, even allowing us to use a 2 ½ year old voucher from when covid cancelled our 2020 trip. Would absolutely plan another excursion with these folks if we're ever in the area again.

We booked the Round the Bend Jeep tour with Far Flung and it was FANTASTIC!! It was our first day in the area and we learned so much about the park from our guides, Jenn and Jeremy. They were full of knowledge, but just as important, they were super fun!! The vehicles are comfortable and the cadence of driving and stopping is near perfect. A great picnic lunch was a welcomed break after a morning of touring. We will call on Far Flung the next time we are in the area and suggest that any of our friends do the same!

Far Flung is a top tier outfitter. We opted for a half-day kayak trip on the Rio Grande and had a great experience. Cody was a great guide and made sure everyone had a good laugh while also feeling safe.
We went during dry season, so it was a very leisurely trip. There were a couple of spots where the boats dragged, but it was still a fun experience - especially since you’re teetering the Mexican-American border the entire trip.

Minutes from Big Bend. For most part quiet, with some highway traffic now and then. Nice little gift shop...shirts, hats, decals, etc. Lots to pick from. Also offers tours (Jeep and river). Will definitely be back on next trip to Big Bend!

We did the ATV tour out into the mountains and it was great. Lots of beautiful and unique scenery combined with insightful history and facts from our guide.

My friend and I booked a full day river outing with Far Flung. They’re well organized with knowledgeable guides and well maintained equipment. The tasty lunch was an added bonus. I highly recommend Far Flung for excursions in the Big Bend area!

What a great experience! We went on a half day kayak trip down the Rio Grande. It was perfect weather and such a fun and relaxing trip. Even the inexperienced can do it and have a blast.

Far Flung made it easy. We met up at the Outdoor Center and followed the guides to the finish point where we dropped off our cars. We loaded up in their vans and drove to the starting point, got briefed on water safety and we’re properly fitted for our life jackets. We had four guides with us because we did have several canoes and kayaks on this trip. The guides are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable giving cool information about the area along the trip down the river. We had a short stop the get a cold drink and a little snack which they provided then we got back on the river for the last half of the trip. There were several small rapids which were fun to ride down too.

I highly recommend Far Flug!! This is a must do.

We did the half day float trip (in the state park) and the whole experience was wonderful. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly and they made sure everyone had a good, safe time. Depending on the water level there may be some rapids.. a few beginners flipped their kayaks going through them. They provide water and granola bars for a stop halfway. If you're an unprepared tent camper like me, you can get a pool day pass which gives you access to a shower. The pool is BYOB (cans only)

Probably the best Jeep Tour we have ever been on! Tour Guide Randy was amazing! As we booked a Sunday morning half day tour right after the busy spring break, we had a private tour sort of as know one else showed up!
Be ready to make several stops in the park and Randy was very knowledgeable and discussed many plants, which my girlfriend loved. The stop for lunch was soo awesome and I was full as a tick when done! Be ready to cover numerous miles in the park and well worth the money.

Great place to stay! They have wverythjng you need and is 10 minutes from the park entrance (about 30 from the main trails). Great coffee, restrooms and space! They even have a cute plant book and showcase the local plants of the area with the guide book. They also have a fire pit every night with cornhole, jenga and frisbee! I’ll definitely come again!!
