Merit Coffee

Servers were very good, attentive, and helpful in explaining how everything 'worked' (for a rookie coffee connoisseur like me); the atmosphere was cool, relaxed, great smooth jazz and pop playing; I ordered a special expresso and a pastry and they were delishiously well made; great experience!

I actually don't like the way their coffee tastes at all... but they sell it at a good price and they have good teas. It's just a different flavor, some like it it's just not for me. But it's a good place to sit for wifi. They also don't have much food so don't come if you're hungry.

Quality has really gone down in recent year. Not sure if it’s their roasting that’s the problem or their baristas. Shots often taste watery like they’ve been pulled to long. They were better when they served other roasters like Intelligencia. There is no where near the consistency that you should expect from a high end coffee shop.

The exterior of Local Coffe belies the cafe's somewhat laid back vibe, airiness & ambience within. Great service; good place to meet for friendship or business. Has covered outside tables as well. Tho' the eats are limited: out-sourced sandwiches, quiches & some assorted pastries, that are all are good. Check it out - regularly.

Best coffee shop in quality and taste that we were able to find while living in San Antonio. The baristas were always nice and pleasant as well. It isn't as fast as going to Starbucks, but it is much better.

Best coffee I've had so far in San Antonio. You get a proper latte here. If I need a real caffeine pick me up, this coffee does the job. Gets busy, parking and finding a place to sit can be tricky, but worth the effort even if you just take it to go.

Met here for a work meeting and loved the atmosphere. Theres a small patio and plenty of seating, but at 3pm on a Monday it seemed fairly busy! The coffee was delicious as well.

$2.50 for a delicious cup of coffee. The cashier said that refills were free but I didn't take him up on the offer since one cup will give you quite the buzz.

Delicious coffee, house made sauces. Please understand this is a very high brow, serious coffee and espresso shop. The baristas have a good idea of what they are doing and they know it. All of that being said it is a great cup of coffee or espresso depending on your preference.

I am a hard-core coffee geek. I have a high-end coffee bar in my home and I roast my own beans.

Local Coffee is one of the most highly rated coffee shops in San Antonio. While the product wasn't bad by any means, it also wasn't special. Only speculating, but perhaps they have become complacent due to their popularity.
