Had the special steak on spinach salad. Steak cooked to perfection! Awesome salad. Also had fried pickles... delicious! Lovely atmosphere and clean bathrooms! A great stop!

I took the advice of several reviewers and deviated from my planned route to see what was so special about this place. It was worry the extra time and fuel! The Black and Blue Burger was over-the-top good, piled high with onion rings, fresh veggies, and bleu cheese. I strongly recommend passing the extra dollar for the fries. You'll see what I mean when you get here. Service was surprisingly fast for made-to-order food. The only thing that kept me from giving that coveted fifth star was the top jars at the register. I never understood why businesses elect customers to tip them for taking my order.

Amazing food; was just passing through and so glad we picked here...Fried chicken was the best home cooked meal. I had the chicken wrap and salad; great Quality food. Not Cheap processed food; Good Quality!!

Our motorcycle ride group stopped in for lunch today. There were 9 of us in our group and the ladies did a great job. Everything was freshly prepared and we all enjoyed our food. I had a cup of their chicken and sausage gumbo and half a tuna sandwich. The gumbo was thick and substantial with a lot of meat. The tuna salad sandwich was served on ciabatta with lettuce, tomato and nice, fresh kettle chips. All in all a nice stop for lunch.

Best breakfast in Menard on Friday and Saturday mornings.

God bless reviews and honest feedback. This restaurant lives up to the rave reviews. We googled for a place to eat near our location. Slim pickings. We read the review for this one and decided to try. Boy were we happy! Friendly staff and delicious food! HIGHLY recommend this place!

Love,Love,Love!!! Nothing better than their tomato basil homeade soup!! Chicken salad is delicious just wish they had sourdough but yummy anyways. Can not beat hometown food! So missed this place.

A decent clean small town place serving quality cafe food with a twist. Slightly overpriced in my opinion, but worth a stop. They also have Blue Bell ice cream and make homemade style shakes on the spot. Plenty of parking plus they have a drive thru for take out convenience.

Amazing fried chicken special with homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, vinaigrette crispy coleslaw and homemade biscuits. I had a taste of the chilled avocado cucumber soup which was a fantastic gazpacho. You can taste the love in Chef Michael Hennessey's food. Well done Chef!

Used to come every year around thanksgiving while we were out at our hunting lease. No longer come to Menard but I still think of this restaurant. Even in Houston I miss it. The cheese fries and turkey cranberry sandwich to die for!
