Incredible soup. We tried several things across our family and everything was awesome. Great place to stop if you’re passing through like we were.

Awesome down home cooking! We love this place and it's now our favorite lunch stop on the route between San Antonio and Lubbock. If you ever find yourself in Menard, TX go to the Lazy Ladle Cafe and sample what really makes this country great. Treat yourself to a wonderfully warm atmosphere and a truly excellent Chicken Fried Steak. God Bless y'all at the Lazy Ladle.

We spent the night in Menard en route to the Davis Mountains and found ourselves at the Lazy Ladle for breakfast. Our family of 5 ordered so much food not knowing the portions would be so big! Suffice to say, the food was delicious and very well-portioned. Some of the best biscuits and gravy this side of the Mississippi. Lovely waitress and plenty of coffee refills :) I only wish their outdoor sign reflected the warmth and goodness of the restaurant. We'll be back!!

REALLY good food!!! The burgers are generous (even the kid’s burgers!) and the LLC Club is packed with flavor. A huge heaping of chips came with it. Everyone was friendly too—those working and those dining. We will definitely be stopping here again. The locals are lucky!

Very courteous, was about to close at 2pm. She told us we will close door after we walked in. They served us ,did not rush us and we enjoyed our Late lunch. Very good menu....

We just stopped for some BLUE BELL ice cream in a waffle cone but it smelled so delicious inside we wished we had not already eaten lunch. We will plan accordingly next time!

Great fried chicken. Friendly staff. Shorthanded the day we were in but they worked hard and managed to get food prepared and served

Whatever you imagine for comfort food - think that... Probably just better! Where to even begin? I'm pretty sure I could write a small short story on just the fried chicken alone. The juxtaposition of the perfectly crunchy skin meeting the juicy white meat chicken was a really rare treat for fried chicken... Most attempts at fried chicken end up so soggy and full of grease these days that it's hardly edible by the time it reaches the table. And that was just the chicken. In total our family and another family of 4 stopped in for a table of 8. We enjoyed everything from the above mentioned fried chicken to picadillo soup a rueben sandwich, grilled cheese and tomato basil soup and of course their delicious biscuits. We were initially tempted to stop and grab a ready-to-eat grocery store sandwich to hit the road back home.... We we're really glad we didn't. Everyrthing was served quickly, fresh and warm - even during lunch hour. Whether you're passing through or willing to make a little drive for some really great food, Lazy Ladle Cafe is a must stop when in or around Menard - highly recommend!

This place is truly a unique find, especially in a small town. The atmosphere is great, it seems new, very well kept, stylish and extremely clean. The food was simply amazing. I did not expect this from a cafe in a small town. Everything is scratch made, from the salad dressings to the rolls and sauces. I don't think they have a cook there, they have a chef with a passion! Though it is 60 miles away from home, I will make the drive to go there again.
