Lazy Ladle Cafe

We were driving through and looking for a place to stop. Ended up here for fried chicken night on Monday. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone driving through Menard.

A cozy family restaurant that makes a good stop while driving through. The menu has a good assortment to fit everyone. Plus, they have daily specials on the chalkboard behind the counter.

The Mushroom Swiss Burger was tasty. I also liked the fried catfish that was a daily special during one of my stops.

The highlight is the sweet potato fries! The dust them with cinnamon sugar to give them just the right added flavor and sweetness.

Prices are what you would expect.

Stopped here on our way back from picking my grandson up from the deer lease. It was a Sunday afternoon about 1 and the place was busy. This is a small town place and everyone (customers and employees) was helpful and kind. We began our meal with some of the best fried pickles I've ever had. The balance of pickle and crispy fried batter was perfect. I honestly couldn't stop eating them, until the basket was empty. We all chose to have sandwiches. My daughter had the black and blue buger, my grandson had the double cheese burger, and I had the brisket ruben. The meat on the sandwiches was all fresh and delicious and our special requests were followed (no tomato or onion on the burgers). The French fries were fresh ,hot and the best ever. Our only disappointment was the chocolate cake, which was adequate. If you are in town, don't miss this spot.

We love eating at Lazy Ladle Cafe! It is always delicious!!! I introduced my sisters from New Braunfels & Keller to it, too. They think it's a great place to stop & dine!

This restaurant never disappoints. They are open every day of the week and food is excellent. Their staff are friendly and courteous. They also offer steak or fish all day on Friday’s and fried chicken all day Monday’s. Their steak is my favorite and their salads are delicious. SUPPORT LOCAL!!!!!!

My husband and I came here for dinner, and we're pleasantly surprised how cute this little place was, especially for it being basically out in the middle of nowhere. The food was more delicious than I thought it was going to be, and the service was great. I got the heart attack Burger which had fried bacon pickles and jalapenos on it, and my husband got the buffalo chicken wrap. We definitely enjoyed them both!

My husband & I agree that it's the place to beat best burgers in America!!! you must try the Pecan pie too
local grown pecans .. it's a dream !!!!

Really enjoyed their fried chicken, mashed potatoes, Asian salad, and biscuits. Staff were friendly and professional, catered lunch. Thank you for a great lunch....delicious.

Two words...BRISKET REUBEN. Genius. Expertly made and perfectly portioned. And the fries are thick and have that crisp batter texture on the outside. My favorite. Wife liked the salad. Kids loved the fries and Mac & Cheese. Fresh lemonade was great. Friendly service. Clean tables. Prices were good. I would go out of my way to eat here again.
