Far West Texas Honest Reviews

Amazing burgers and beer fries. Super hot inside restaurant. Owner is so friendly.

West Texas

This a decent place to eat in marfa. Their pizza is good, their dessert is good and the service is good but only open certain days during the week.

This is a great place to grab a delicious, inexpensive breakfast! The food was filling and the servers were very attentive. Make sure to grab a donut or two while you’re there.

We were exploring the country along US 90, and completely missed the entrance since the signage with the name isn't prominent if you're arriving to Marfa from Valentine. We turned around in Marfa, headed back, and there was the big sign with the prominent name and the unmistakable gates and yard sculptures.

We weren't entirely certain what to expect from a steel quonset hut in a completely remote section of West Texas, but we were definitely not prepared for the level of perfection that arrived on our plates. Raz built his own 3-egg omelette, with mushrooms, onions, cheese, jalapenos, and bacon. After the first bite, he declared it the single best omelette he had ever eaten, and confirmed that periodically through the process of eating it. I was impressed by the quality and kick of the jalapenos, and definitely agree that it was perfectly prepared.

I ordered a cheeseburger, which turned out unexpectedly to be the platonic ideal of cheeseburger. The only way the experience might have been improved would be with green chile, but that's a cultural bias on my part and would be a completely different menu item, so I digress... Anyhow, the burger came with a choice of fries or chips, and I went for the "beer fries" which was thoroughly the right call. Crispy outsides, smooshy insides, and an incredible depth of flavor from the beer batter. Just wow! The best fries I have tasted to date.

If you are in this stretch of Texas for any reason, this is thoroughly the place to stop for lunch!

You feel like you walked into your favorite aunt’s house for breakfast! The staff could not be friendlier, the food and the price value is really good too. It’s not exactly the healthiest place buy you’ll feel so welcome and so at home you’ll even want to buy a t-shirt!

Love this place and MUST come every time we are in town. Get here early as it fills up fast, especially on Sunday. Coffee bar with Cappuccinos and Smoothies, Fantastic Bear Bread as well as an assorment of homemade pastries and donuts. Recommend the Huevos Rancheros.

I think we sat in a blind spot in the dinning room...30 min after we got here my girlfriend had to get up and ask if we could order. The waiter looked over at another table was confused until I waived my hand ...it was like he saw the table for the first time...wow! The waiter came to fill coffee and spilled half on the table and just walked away oblivious...incredible!

So the food took another 30 min. Coffee was weak and the cheesy grits are watery. On the plus side the omelet was good.

This is clearly a place to skip!!

Walked in with a group of friends and was instantly greeted with “the wait is going to be about 45 min!” And then the lady continued to shout to another employee that she was going to quit as she didn’t understand why they don’t hire anyone else to help. The screaming lasted the entire time, and we had no choice but to leave.
