Enjoyed the great service and food! We had Jake’s Eggs and a bacon and cheese omelet. The homemade salsa was very good. Cappuccino was good too. We arrived around 1030am (Sunday) and had a 30 minute wait for a table inside. Will be back.

Looking for a new breakfast place, hoping to find a "regular" place, we came upon Café Lago. It's small and although they have an outdoor patio, this day was quite chilly and we wanted to dine inside... and so did everyone else. All the tables were full, but there was no one else waiting for a table at that time. There doesn't seem to be any sign up sheet/list, so stay near by and keep an eye out for people leaving their table. The staff are certainly busy but just seemed odd that no one would talk to you until you are at a table.
We didn't wait long for our table and once seated, we were immediately greeted and our drink orders were taken. The staff are very friendly and personable. It was our first time so we were just looking over the menu and deciding between breakfast or lunch. So, we decided on one of each.
I had the "Jake's Eggs" and my friend had a turkey sandwich. We also had a slice of the French Toast. And to drink I had the iced tea. For starters, the tea is freshly brewed. You really have to appreciate a place that will brew their tea instead of using instant. We didn't have to wait very long before the food came out. The plates were full and the food was fresh and hot.
For starters, the French Toast is made from raisin Texas toast and it looks like something you would see on the menu. The pictures always look better than the food, but this looked amazing! And looks were deceiving; I realize French Toast can seem pretty basic, but you don't want to pass this up even if it's just to share a slice or two with someone.
The Jake's Eggs is just scrambled eggs with a lot added in. It's probably really good if you are very hungry but not if you want something light. I had the hash browns and tortilla. It's a decent egg meal but not something I would order regularly. The sandwich was kind of plain. The turkey was fresh and came with corn chips.
So, overall it's a nice place but not a place I would pick as a "regular". They are very nice and it's a quaint place, good prices. But the food was just okay. I would consider giving it another try in the future and see if the food is any better.

One of my all time favorites. It’s such a hidden little gem I almost don’t like giving away my secrets. Great breakfast and lunch- breakfast tacos, pastries, jalapeño Turkey melt, and their soups are just a few of my faves. Great coffee and daily lunch specials. Family owned and operated. Love love love cafe lago!

Cafe Lago in Lakeway is a spot for the locals and visitors alike. It was great watching the regulars interact with the servers. I’m a fan of breakfast food and Cafe Lago did not disappoint. Go with the blueberry pancakes. And the bacon was great too.

Florida people looking for some brunch. This quaint little cafe is really nice. I had breakfast while the husband had lunch. I had egg and potato taco. The egg and potato are not mixed together, but that doesn't take away from the taste. The potatoes were seasoned which was nice. Husband got the Cobb salad. He really enjoyed the dressing that comes with it. Feels like this is a local favorite place. It's tucked away in a neighborhood. Ladies that waited on us were really nice.

Amazing service and food! I was visiting Lakeway for work and Cafe Lago was just across the road from us. I am SO glad we found this little gem. The employees are so happy and kind and the food is delicious! I envy anyone who lives near this restaurant.

After the long wait, I was hyped for some EXCELLENT food based on all the previous reviews but I was really disappointed when the migas was only okay (pretty flavorless tbh) and my server was so busy I never had the opportunity to grab a second coffee and enjoy my meal and the cafe. I’ll try again and order something different and hope for a better all around experience.

Just went by to order food to go because they were busy. Met with rudeness. When a place is under pressure, it is not the time to treat guests that have never been there before like trash. My husband said what he would like to eat eggs grits and sausage. We were told with frustration “Read the menu” . This lady had long black hair with her cap. She was a jerk and we left. Not going to tolerate that!

Service was friendly. Place was quaint and down to earth. Food was good, but didn't knock my socks off. We were a little late for breakfast, so my rating is based on lunch. Breakfast would have been better.

Nice cosy breakfast place! Had places to sit outside and inside and the food was prompt and fulfilling. Would definitely visit again when in the Lakeway area!
