Been waiting for this place to reopen. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Will be back

I really wanted to like this restaurant. Very homey, cute atmosphere and nice staff. But we waited for about 30-40 minutes for a breakfast plate and a catfish plate. The pancakes were the highlight of the meal, light and fluffy. I was NOT impressed with the catfish “filets” meal for 8.99. Very small filets, the beans/rice was flavorless and the side salad wasn’t the best. That being said, still taking home the left overs because I ate my husband’s pancakes and only two of the catfish filet nuggets. Hopefully it was just an off day, because the staff did apologize several times about the wait. Maybe we will give it another try with something else on the menu.

This place used to be more homemade, from scratch, kind of foods. They don't make their own pies anymore and the food tastes sub-par, like it's bulk - bought from Sisco. It's not the same when I lived here 20 years ago. It is cheap, but I wouldn't mind paying more for quality and the nostalgia of this place.

Great country style meat and two and breakfast all day. Historic downtown location, spot on service with a smile, and bottomless coffee. All this and wifi make this cafe a Huntsville staple.

Food and staff were wonderful! The environment is what you would expect from a place called Cafe Texan, nice and cozy. The chicken friend chicken tasted wonderful and was cooked perfectly.

Well attended local vintage type eating establishment. Large portions for breakfast but could use some improvement on quality but definitely not bad and willing to try again. Had breakfast there. I hear the catfish is very good but not available everyday. Service is very good. Older furnishings and decorations is the theme but eating areas and tables are kept nicely.

If you want to feel a part of the family, this is the place to be. The servers always treat/greet you like a best friend they haven't seen in a while. The food is hot, fresh and tasty. Made to order. Unlimited coffee refills and free WiFi. Great location near the library and gov buildings.

Great place to eat at. I came to visit my brother and sister in law who is pregnant and we were worried about going here as it used to be a smoking establishment. When we arrived we discovered to our surprise that it is now a non smoking establishment! We were so happy to be able to eat and enjoy the food and atmosphere without choking on second hand smoke. Plus the food was good old fashioned southern comfort food and really hit the spot. The atmosphere is great and decor is very unique. I look forward to eating here again the next time I'm in town.

Best kept secret in Huntsville..youve got to try it! No frills, but food is great! Not overly priced either - if you get the chicken fried steak, its big enough to share! Waitress at counter on left side is OUTSTANDING! Beautiful smile, and outgoing!
