All of my reviews are based on the atmosphere of the coffeeshop, my experience with the staff, and the cortado which is primarily ranked by taste but I'll give points for presentation as well. That being said, Antidote has a nice atmosphere, a big window for natural light, and sort of old, jazz music that I liked. These are probably the only good things I can say about the place. The service was plain, neither exceptional nor disappointing. What was disappointing was the cortado. The drink smelled like something that had been severely burned, and lacked any semblance of coffee, which some may argue is the best part. In addition, the coffee itself was remarkably bitter with a similarly burnt taste. To top it off, it had a plain presentation so there were no bonus points there. Overall, I would not come here again unless someone told me that some other drink was amazing.

Love the vibe of this place, and especially how early in the day they open. When I'm visiting town I get my morning caffeine hit from here and their pastries are also fabulous.

Not sure if I was being duped... We ordered a cortado and cappuccino. Both drinks were the same size which is confusing (why have "cortado" on the menu if it looks like a cappuccino from the '90s). But what I can't figure out is why my cortado tastes like sweetened milk with no coffee. Asked the barista about some dark syrup on the side of the cup which he said was a sweetening syrup they use, but not in the "cortado." My order was for a decaf--maybe they were out and substituted syrup for coffee? My kids would have loved the sweetened milk, but I'll look for my next coffee elsewhere.

My coffee tasted burnt or like the machine was not clean. I don't know but not good. The staff was super nice when ordering. The patrons weren't very nice which made the place seem almost unwelcoming. The bathroom felt dirty.

Great neighborhood coffee shop. Come here often after taking weekend walks with the family.

I don’t know… I like the coffee, but the place looks like an abandoned house. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️
The barista is amazing, the other staff members are ok ….

Going to this place for years but reaching a point of disappointment. Are you'll cup shrinking or something. Cup size's becoming smaller day by day.

Go-to coffee spot in Houston. Good wifi, comfy seats, great baked goods. Easily the best vegan cinnamon roll in Texas, much less town. Never enough parking, but that's most things in this part of town.

Came here expecting very well made coffee on a weekend afternoon. Ordered oatmilk cappuccinos (I'm aware it is not the easiest milk to work with) and was very disappointed, foam was like o par with a autofoam machine (think Starbucks), and flavors were just not balanced. Did not finished it. Not sure if it was a one-off but at the same time the place seem understaffed as we had to wait a few minutes in front of an empty register yo order.

Good coffee. Two hour of wifi per purchase is their official policy?
