If you are reading this and can afford it do the tasing menue with wine pairing. It's one of the best in the nation. My wife and I visit this place everytime we are in dallas and it's always a 10/10 experience! The chef/owner is a no nonsense master of her trade. You will leave full and happy!

We had the chef tasting with wine pairing. The tomato soup was tasty with just a little bit of lock in it. My favorite course was the scallop atop the potato risotto. The cake at the end was a little dry but the topping of the fig ice cream and whipped cream rounded it out well.

Went here with a friend and really enjoyed the food, I had the sea bass which was cooked very nicely. The service we had was good and the atmosphere was relaxing and laid back. The reason for the 4 star is because of the portion size, for the price I expected just a little more. Overall good place, but slightly pricey for portion size.

Disappointing. Walked in with reservations and no one was at the door. Finally seated. Still not asked anything for awhile and when our waiter asked for our drink orders he had to come back and ask again. For a party of 4. Unsure of why since it was not busy. 6 pm on a Wednesday evening. Food was great but the price would demonstrate a much better service experience. Won’t return Too many options around here with exceptional service. I would recommend the management take this more seriously. Disappointing to say the least.

Best meal I have had in Dallas, hands down.
The space was nice too. We sat in the back on the east side of the restaurant behind the bar. It has lower ceilings and I would guess is more quite, yet spacious.
The food was excellent. Simple yet layered. The flavor combinations seemed so obvious, but I had not seem them done. I great example is the Ravioli. The pasta itself was done very well, but the red sauce was the key. Not only was the ragu great, it was plated with too small lines of pesto on either side of the dish. This made it. Perhaps the best red sauce I have had.
The service was very good. Attentive, but not intrusive.
This is my new favorite spot in town!

A group of 7 of us recently went to Local for the Chef Tasting with the Wine Pairing. The first two course were great which was Butternut Squash Soup and Endive Salad with Brussel Sprouts. The next 4 were below average. The meats were extremely tough and tasteless and the Salmon was over cooked and tough as well. The pairing of the wines was very good. Each wine was very nice but the emphasis on it being a Pairing wasn't a priority to the server. The description of the wines and why they were paired that was was an after thought to them. To pay $100 for a below average meal and leave with no more knowledge of the wine pairing than when we entered was a huge disappointment. When we were given the check, we waited for 30 minutes then finally had to go find her to come back to get our cards. Very disappointing night.

Caught a few music acts at Canton Hall last night. I had a great time. It’s one giant room, no seating so it’s standing room only. The sound system is LEGIT! Great bar surprisingly fast service. They have a smoking section outside if you are so inclined. Temperature was set really cool which came in handy as the night progressed and it the place filled up. Hard floors so make sure to wear comfy shoes. I will be back for sure!

Very nice experience here. The atmosphere is very nice. The place can be hard to spot as it is tucked away, and there really isn't much of a sign. But the drinks were good, I enjoyed the food.
The reason for 4 stars versus 5 stars is because nothing blew me away. I really did enjoy the place, but for the price of the items, I expected a little more. I'll likely come back, and still highly recommend it, but deep ellum has other places that seriously compete with Local

I was actually pretty excited to try this place as they had a nice looking tasting menu, with wine paring, for only $120.00. Unfortunately, as the old saying goes "you get what you pay for." The restaurant itself has a cool vibe and I appreciated the fact that they put together cocktail options using only wine (no liquor license). The Chefs corn chowder with crispy leeks was actually quite good, however, things went south from there.
Tomato Salad: Blah
Tomato Soup with crispy basil: very little flavor and tasted more of a minestrone soup.
Lobster Cake: expected lump lobster meat, came minced. I did like the dill sauce with the greens.
Short Rib with potato: Short rib was very tender and had great flavor. The potatoes were completely inedible due to the MASSIVE amount of salt. Very bad.
Watermelon Intermizzo: was pretty good. Needed more lemon flavor
Halibut dish: the worst dish of all. Halibut is one of my favorite fish dishes, but this was literally like eating a frozen halibut fish stick. It was honestly that bad. The breading was gummy and completely ruined the fish. Gnocchi helped the dish, but was a total crash and burn.
Wagyu Tenderloin: sad, sad day.... cooked well, but tough for "wagyu." VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY salty.
Dessert: **palm to face** chocolate pudding that tasted like instant pudding and over cooked TINY donut holes. By the time desert arrived I was over the whole experience.
Overall a good concept and what could have been magical, fell flat on its face. Damn.

I took my son as a graduation present and, as he is beginning culinary classes in the Fall, ordered the chef's tasting. I had the filet and asparagus. We shared an appetizer of fried green beans.
EVERYTHING put before us was absolutely divine! Had I been alone, I would've probably licked the plates. Can't say enough wonderful things about Chef Tracy and the magic she works in her kitchen!
