How is this place still open? Walked in for a reservation Friday night at 7pm. Took a while to be get greeted and seated. On the way to the table the hostess/waitress had no idea where to seat us and seemed like getting into an argument with one of the waiters for getting us to sit in his section. After being allowed to seat it took 10 minutes to get a drink order in. After a total of 30 minutes of sitting there , no water , no drinks we decided to take our business down the road to a different establishment. What a waist of time.

The cocktails were top notch, especially considering there is no liquor (they only have a beer/wine license). The bartender was also welcoming and friendly, and I really wish we had sat at the bar for our meal. The food was great- well prepared and well presented. We had beef tenderloin and the scallops. The reason for my two-star review is the very poor service. I am guessing someone called in because our waitress clearly had too many tables. Instead of offering a brief apology, putting on a smile and making the best of it, she came off as extremely cold and indifferent. Ditto the hostess and chef(?) who brought our food. Everyone except the bartender just seemed so miserable. There are far too many great restaurants in Dallas with incredible food AND service to waste money on this place.

This place is a hidden gem in the Dallas restaurant scene. The location, ambiance, historical feel and food are all amazing. From the steak special (secret steak sauce), seared scallops (melt in your mouth), and even a burger (just order it)... everything was top notch.
Our group of 6 started out at the bar which has an assortment of local beers and wines. After hanging out for a while we were shown the way to our seats. We started off with their fried green beans (chef's recommendation) and cheese tray. None of either of the apps were left in the end. For our main courses - scallops, steaks, sea-bass, short rib and burgers were ordered. Each person described the meal and their entree as some of the best they had ever had. We ended the night by ordering donut holes... yes, donut holes. And they were phenomenal.
10/10 would recommend this place. Whether it be for a corporate dinner meeting, a quaint dinner date, or just an evening out with our friends - we will definitely be back soon.

the vibe is cool here, but the food is not good. it’s insanely salty. any meat / fish I’ve had has been really dry. also- there are german cockroaches, lots of them. this place is in desperate need of a revamp.

My husband and i visited while on a quick trip for the weekend. This is a neat place, being in an older building but the interior is beautiful and unique. We had an amazing dinner. We did the chefs tasting and each course was delicious, with the wine pairing working so well with everything. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the very loud music that did not match the atmosphere this place seemed to be trying to achieve. The type of music didn't seem to fit where we were, and there wasn't a lot of people there, still quite early to be playing the music as loud as it was. As it filled up with guests, we didn't notice as much, but it was distracting at first.

My husband and I went for a date night on a Saturday. The food was delicious. Expect the experience to take at least an hour and a half (without dessert) to really savor your food and beverages. Service was excellent. We split fried green beans and that could have been split between four people! I had scallops and he had a delicious filet. Will be returning for sure!

My wife and I have been here a few times and are always very impressed by the food and service. We always do the chef special with wine pairing and are blown away. We have been to many of the nice restaurants in the area but we come back to this one for birthdays and special occasions. The attention to detail is outstanding. We went tonight and our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. The price is great for what you are getting. My one critique would be that the wine portions were smaller than we would like. A couple years ago they were much larger.

We had the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairings, and it was delicious! Everything was spectacular! I especially enjoyed the short rib course and the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Phenomenal.

We had a great experience here. Despite it being a small restaurant we felt like they are taking precautions and social distancing seriously and we felt safe through the meal. Food may have been over salted but it won’t stop us from coming back and trying more. I had the halibut, my husband had the short rib. Had the fried green beans and salad for app as well.
