Went on Sunday around 1:00, and loved it! My daughter and I both got the pancakes and bacon, and it was brought out to us very quickly. The food was delicious, and our server was very nice, and checked in on us a few times to make sure we had what we needed. So glad to have this neat restaurant on Main Street--we will be back again!

Really cute place...a bit crowded would be my only complaint, but, although I understand it's the whole homy feel...but awesome service and breakfast was really good.

Great spot for brunch. I ordered a sausage hash bowl. It was delicious. The flavor was on point; the sausage was perfectly smoked. The vegies were the perfect flavor to complete the bowl, and the portion was awesome. I was definitely surprised. I will be back.

The best breakfast I have had in awhile. Really nice atmosphere. I got The Texas hash, which is really a breakfast bowl. The sausage was excellent, just the right amount of spice, not too hot. The eggs and potatoes that came with it were very good. Awesome breakfast flavors all around. The coffee was very good also. The pancakes were some of the best I have ever had. I had the short stack (2). Light and tasty, the syrup was very good also. A great place for breakfast.

We are new to the Cibolo area and have only driven through old town in the evening. Today we had an opening in our schedule and took advantage of it and tried The Rooted Fork. We got the Texas Hash, Shrimp Cake Beni’s, Stack ‘O’ Cakes, Texas Wedge and a side of biscuits and gravy (a bit of food for two people…lol). We got a hot coffee and iced vanilla coffee as beverages.
It was a Saturday with great weather so we chose to eat outside (it was a bit loud with customers talking inside but not intolerable) we just wanted to enjoy the great weather. We took our dog (pets are welcome) who is a service animal and sat at a shaded picnic table. The cashiers were friendly and patient. The condiments are collocated on a table next to the soft serve beverage fountain and coffee.
My wife could not stop talking about the Shrimp Cake Beni’s and credits them as being the second best she has had (number 1 was in NM). I had the Texas Hash both plates were very tasty and good sized portions. The Texas Wedge was good too. We did not care for the Stack ‘O’ Cakes; my wife found them to be chewy and overcooked. I found them to lack in flavor, etc. The coffees were good.
Service was great, they were friendly and made you feel welcome.
We will definitely return, skip the pancakes, and enjoy some more of their great food.
….if you eat outside you may want to have the umbrella open since the birds have good aim … lol

Been waiting to try The Rooted Fork for a few weeks now, today was the day and it was worth the wait. I always do research before I head to a new restaurant, so I knew I had to order at the counter, so I studied the menu before we arrived. There was plenty of parking and lots of picnic table outside to sit, there were table inside too. We entered the beautiful home, turned into restaurant. As we entered we were greeted with hellos and welcomes. We were asked if we had visited before we answered no and were then informed of the ordering process at the counter. We were prepared and ordered. I ordered biscuits and gravy, a stack of pancakes(banana fosters style) husband ordered BLT and added an egg. Husband grabbed a blueberry muffin at the counter. I have only great things to say about our brunch, it was delicious. Only thing was I found the pancakes were a little dry, my husband did not think that, so it is just a person's preference. However the cakes were full off flavor. I suggest trying this fun brunch place, just a short drive from San Antonio.

Good place to visit, even on sun for breakfast. Tried the new Ultimate burrito, very filling.

It seems the bad reviews started with the unusual ordering process; you order at the front counter and take your drinks to any table, sort of fast-food style. We too were a bit confused at first, but after trying it we really liked it. We sat and had our coffee right away, and the food was served in a very reasonable time. The food was generally very good, but some items could use a little work. We had eggs beni, hash, and a pancake to try. If others had a bad server experience, they are obviously making an effort. We had several staff stop by to make sure everything was good and had our fill of coffee refills. Very enjoyable, and we will be coming back.
