My first time at Polite Coffee felt like an adventure. You see, i am from Bryan/College Station and I heard that there was this amazing coffee shop in the Kyle House which is actualy where a friend of mine and then a church member had held their weddings. It boggled my mind a little. I love coffee shops they are their own little worlds a world within a culture of whatever town or city they belong and so this experience was like the begininning of my reintroduction into how has College Station Bryan been doin since I left? Well let me tell you, I walked in no my first experience with Polite was driving by following the GPS and of course the GPS took me a way I had never been before, when you think you have seen it all, and so when I arrived it was a pleasant surprise to see such a beautiful home and mostly that blazing emboldened cowboy hat of a sign that says HEY I'M HERE PICK ME. I was so happy to do so. I parked and was so delighted to get out on a gravel riveway and walk through an archway of Victorian foliage and vinery. What a lovely entrance. The first thing I noticed was a casual student on the porch doing her summer readings. Makes sense. Next I entered. What an experience. The Kyle house indeed is now a coffee house and each room has a theme and the coffees are super boutique like using lavender syrup and freshly roasted coffee made in house and I am all about it. I personally do not drink caffeine however I was graced with the delicious decaf-espresso which ok it does have caffeine but omg so good. Thank you thank you. I found a spot by a window put my tunes on and went into focus heaven. The decor is classy trendy modern. I highly recommend the spot. If you get there early enough you could snag the long table room and have group project meetings there..just sayin. xo

I don't want to leave a good review because I kind of want the place all to myself! Excellent coffee, cozy environment for visiting friends or working, and a really nice staff that may even remember your name of you come in enough.
You get a free drink if you buy a bag of their coffee beans too!
Love that they have some pretty unique alternative drinks as well.

I only have one complaint... I hate how far it is from my house!
I LOVE the Kyle house, each room seems to have a different vibe.
The staff is always helpful, kind, patient, funny, etc. everything you wish for in a barista!
Of course the coffee is tastey, but they also create some unique drinks to showcase that are also pretty good!!!

Really love the experience and staff. Coffee could be better but overall a great place in the area.

I am changing my review because I am certain it is the right thing to do. After the previous 2 incidents, the Polite Coffee Team has been wonderful as always, and honestly, this in my opinion is one of the best coffee places in the Country. It is a gem which I am so grateful for - the environment, the location, the creativity, the coffee plus the goodies and service is fantastic. I just moved to the area a few months back and it is the place I think of to get wonderful coffee from as well as stay and work or study. Thank you!! Blessed With All Blessings

Absolutely love this place! The coffee is superb and the atmosphere of being in an old home style shop, makes it even better. Definitely check it out!

Good vibes and great coffee. They sell bagged freshly roasted coffee of a variety of flavors as well as some brewing equipment. Their baristas are really talented and the seasonal drinks are usually really interesting. Most recently I got an iced latte with Orgeat syrup, which was delicious and not an idea I would have thought of.

Update: the Fall selection of drinks is here! The polite spiced latte, butterscotch latte and apple latte are all excellent and the coffee really shines. My favorite though is the butterbeer with more cold brew and less cream soda; the baristas are very nice about changing it for me :)

Absolutely lives up to it’s name. The staff is extremely polite and helps you choose your drink. Hands down the BEST latte I’ve ever had, I was extremely impressed. I also loved that the shop is in an old historical house. Cute sitting areas, perfect for studying alone or meeting friends. We will definitely visit again next time we’re in the area.

Really impressed with Polite Coffee. When visiting the area for a graduation lunch at Ronin my wife and I stopped at the Kyle House to get a cup of Polite Coffee. The coffee was good and I bought a bag of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans to take home.
At home though when I tried to make espresso from the Yirgacheffe the cups were very sour. I contacted Polite and asked for advice on how to make my espresso less sour and they told me that the Yirgacheffe should be used for drip coffee but not espresso. They refunded me for the bag of Yirgacheffe and also sent me a bag of Colombian beans to go along with the Peruvian, and El Salvador beans I bought. I was really impressed with their helpfulness and their generosity. And the espresso I've made from the Peruvian and Colombian beans has been delicious. I'm saving the El Salvador to give as a gift. Anyway I really like this place and wish I lived closer but glad I can buy their coffee online.
