I've never waited so long for a cup of black coffee, I've never had black coffee taste like mushroom covered depression and I never want to again. The place felt like a hippie flop house, the lady at the register was sweet, the guy making coffee seemed disinterested in existence much less doing his job.

Every few weeks, when we'd drive by, I'd mention, let's check out this place sometime. Welp, 2+ years later, we arrived.
I'd read the story about Steve and his detailed approach with roasting and excitement to open the shop, while bringing on board just as dedicated a staff. i couldn't wait to support such an endeavor, and finally the day came.
Absolutely adore what they've done with the interior, keeping it as original as possible, with the possibility of more quiet areas to work, chat, enjoy the ambiance of the home.
The friendliness of the staff superb, the lil sign that says something about ask questions, i read that after i inundated them w quite a few already, hehheh
I bought 2 bags of beans.
Enjoying 1 of them currently as i write this (well, the coffee made from the beans) and as i enjoy my pour over, with water reaching just 140°, the fragrance is divine, the subtle sweetness tantalizing, brought to me from Rodrigo Peláez (Columbian).
I've not delved into the Mache Estate (El Salvador) as of yet, but I'm certain I'll be just as pleased
The 4 stars though? Sadly, they use a microwave. I enjoyed an Americano on our visit, was shocked to hear a door open and looked to see they put in a cup with a filter.
Was that my drink? I don't know, but either way, i was highly disappointed, with all the effort to bring the bean to near perfection to then use microwaved water ¿¿

Long wait, average coffee, not much seating.
We got 2 different drinks, but both were average at best. We also got a kolache which was decent, but was cold by the time we sat down with our drinks to eat it. Lots of students sit here and study which is fine. But most of the tables have 4 chairs, which means most of the tables only had 1, maybe 2 people at them with a customer sitting there for at least an hour with just 1 drink.
It’s a neat building (converted old house), but I wish the service matched the aesthetics of that.
When we did find a table, it was part broken and ended up spilling half my drink on it.
Staff seemed nice, it just took too long to get a couple of coffees, and above average price. At least 15 minutes. Almost $25 for 2 drinks, kolache, and the 20% tip we added on.
I don’t plan on returning.

OMg. What a gem in Bryan. The customer service is Spot On. The space is wonderful. The best study place. The coffee is freshly roasted. Great varieties. Buy a bag of freshly roasted beans a get free cup of coffee. Will be back many times!

A beautiful place full of hope and magic. The baristas treat you like family. Nathan, the barista trainer, really knows his stuff when it comes to roasting coffee and pulling espresso. Do yourself a favor and order The Slapfight. They just hired a new baker and will be expanding their selection of baked goods!

The coffee is pretty delicious. The baristas are super sweet; I asked for a drink etc and they had my back. Location itself is real beautiful: Old Bryan style.

Fantastic coffee shop in downtown Bryan! You get a free drink with the purchase of a bag of coffee. The atmosphere is chill and there are always lots of people there studying or working.

My husband and I stopped at Polite Roasters after visiting several coffee shops in Bryan/College Station that used their beans. The shop was so cute and a really pleasant atmosphere! If we hadn't been on our way back to Colorado that morning, we would have loved to sit for a long while in the shop :) The barista was also very kind and patient as our two kids ran crazy, explaining the menu and recommending her favorite drinks. The coffee is really good and they have lots of variety in their roasts to choose from. Can't wait to visit Texas in December and visit the store again!

I love this coffee shop. They certainly live up to their name and principles. I come here every chance I get. Really good coffee in addition to a nice selection of take-home coffees and accessories.
Reason for 3 stars is because (1) they only have 1 size of Togo coffee cup, which is no more than 12 ounces; (2) they charge $4 for that tiny cup of coffee; and (3) 9 times out of 10 they don’t even have drip coffee brewed…at a coffee shop. I don’t care if I have to pay $4 for a cup of coffee but I end up paying $8 for what would be a “large” cup of of coffee anywhere else.
Finally, is it “polite” to make someone wait 20 minutes for a cup of coffee? Every time I come here during the school year, the line and wait are longer and longer.

Good coffee but poor service, a staff member chased us out (insisted that we leave) of the store while it was raining heavily at 505pm and closing time was 5pm. For the price and ambience, that attitude isn't acceptable!
Kids running your business will ruin your reputation!!!
Update:
Manager reached out and apologized for a new staff member's error and offered to make things right. I appreciate that.
