The culture around service and tipping is just off these days. Not just about Patika, but in general. Seat yourself, order your own food through a QR code (Sat brunch). The table tent says they’ll bring your water and silverware, but after almost 10 minutes I ended up getting my own. Default 20% tip and a 4% health and wellness charge. The only interaction I had with the staff was the 3 seconds it took them to drop my coffee and my lunch on the table. I absolutely love this place and I know everybody’s nice and cool etc. It just feels like it’s going the way of United Airlines where they outsource all the work to you but everything costs more. I’m a generous tipper, very much in favor of taking care of employees first, but it all needs to add up with a total experience. In other news, the Shakshuka toast was delicious, but the tomato sauce was twice as salty as it needed to be… I had to push most of it to the side (previous time I had it it was spot on).

Literally the best breakfast taco in Austin = SweetPotato+Chorizo+GoatCheese. Holy Moly. Food options a bit limited but all extremely high quality.
Great staff, nice place to do some work. Coffeeshop interior can get a bit loud.

I visited for the first time yesterday. The staff was friendly and my latte was beautiful and delicious. There’s a great patio where I enjoyed my beverage!

Everything I could’ve asked for in a brunch stop. Immaculate vibes, and amazing service on top of an incredibly delicious meal that leaves you just the perfect amount of satisfied. Not to mention the really wonderful coffee. I absolutely recommend this place for a look into what Austin is all about!

First, I’m obnoxiously picky about my coffee and milk preferences. I’ve worked as a barista at a high end cafe for years. So I know a quality latte when I see and taste one. Patika is my favorite coffee shop in Austin. I’ve literally been to almost every single shop both north and south and this place always comes out on top.
Not only are the drinks of the highest quality, always steamed to perfection with the absolute best tasting LOCAL espresso, but the ambiance is unmatched. This place has a real charming laid back vibe. I love the simplicity of the menu and how the baristas interact with their customers. Every time I come I feel like family. They do the most to make everyone feel welcome and heard. No attitude or sass, unlike every other coffee shop in Austin.
I have to take this opportunity to call out a particular barista, Jen (I believe that is her name 🤔, gorgeous & stylish blond woman), This girl makes THE BEST drinks, every single time the most consistanly perfectly steamed milk and latte art. I feel blessed every I come in and see that she is working. She also has the kindest demeanor. If I had any authority in this establishment I would make sure she knew her value. In my humble opinion, she makes this cafe.
And of course, the food is dope too!
