An outstanding coffee shop — great coffee and you can actually sit down to enjoy it, to read or work, or to space out (unlike many overly-crowded Austin-area coffee shops). A hidden gem for this part of North Austin and well worth repeat visits.
Malone has an interesting business approach, by the way. This location is flagship, but it also has coffee trucks in various parts of Austin. Don’t discount them as just “coffee food trucks.” You just can’t sit down and use the Wifi as easily, but it’s good coffee (haven’t tried the baked goods yet).
Malone lacks a true dark roast, but I find many coffee brands lack dark roasts in Austin. Paul — owner and coffee visionary — roasts on site and is willing to make a darker roast if I want one. Never had that offer before. Making my way through all Malone coffees first.
Finally, a coffee shop nearby that’s worth spending time.

Bomb coffee, cold brew is on point. As someone from the Philly area, 100% would recommend their cheesesteaks as well.

Good coffee. The employees are super friendly and will chat with you if things aren't too busy.
Nice place to grab a cup a' joe

So happy to have a good coffee shop nearby! I ordered a butter coffee, which was delicious, and will definitely be back to try other drinks. There is plenty of seating, and they are helping support Wells Branch by selling the WBNA calendars for 2020.

I discovered the place in my neighborhood late February early March. My boyfriend and I made it part of our quarantine routine to try and support local during shelter in place. We met the owner once. We had great conversation with him and appreciated the roasting of their coffee. I would get lattes on my way to work and sometimes bring some in for staff. However the last few months the coffee and lattes haven’t been up to par. Honestly the baristas don’t seem to pay attention. As they repeat the order they say it back back wrong to you and even if you repeat it again it’s still wrong. I’m pretty sure I was charged last Sunday late morning for a dirty chai (with espresso) after I asked for no espresso...just plain chai. The woman repeated back, “ok a dirty chai- no espresso...so it’s just a plain chai.” I was given a cold (ordered hot) chai latte- the chai comes out of a box and was mostly milk. And this from the barista that was training another barista. As much as we are trying to support local bad coffee and poor service are not cutting it for us. Really hope staff improves. As the only local coffee shop in the neighborhood it’s nice to pick up good coffee- especially this time of the year.

In our attempts to find a local roaster, came across Malone and called the number. Ended up talking with Paul, the owner and his crew of barista's working behind the counter. We tasted several brews, but the Sumatra roast was unavailable. They brewed us a fresh pot and ended up recommending a mix of Columbia and Sumatra coffees---what a great idea and we both love it! Thanks Paul!

Good standard coffee, no pour overs here, but definitely a great neighborhood cafe that pairs into my Little Ola’s routine every weekend :)

Love our neighborhood coffee shop. Best roasted beans in the city. Love that they have a small play area for kids.
