Este has their DMS closed but everyone deserves to see the joy of Isaac cooking a 6+lb tuna collar. Our server, Andy was fantastic. Good food (get the camarones ricas, fish tacos and the semifreddo), good wines and great service

I have yet to try their sister restaurant Suerte as they do not take reservations and I have better things to do with my time instead of waiting around. Thank goodness Este takes reservations and as soon as we checked in, we were seated right away which I really appreciated as nothing chaps may hide more than having a reservation and then waiting for your table.
I could not believe how packed it was on a Tuesday; every table was taken and there were also people waiting and hoping to snag a table. The atmosphere was very lively and energizing which made our experience that much more enjoyable.
We started with a few glasses of Portuguese wine and the peche margarita that was delicious.
Food wise, we started with the tuna tiradito and carreta tostada. The tuna the carreta tostada were both good, although, the carreta was a little on the fishy side. They were both ample starters and with one tostada, we were able to split it between 4 people.
Next, we tried the delicious fish tacos! Warning....if you do not like spicy food, then omit the salsa as it had a bit more than a kick to it. The pork carnitas and okra both got a thumbs up, but the lobster dish was my favorite.
The dessert menu did not sound that appetizing to me, but someone in my party ordered the rum baba and said it was really good.

Not sure the hype was warranted but it was good. Service was impeccable and the fish taco slaps. Parking is abysmal but of course they offer valet. I’m glad we got to experience Suerte’s sister restaurant.

Overpriced, tostada with way too much salt, Happy Hour oysters were half- priced but they started at $6 each where most restaurants started at $4 each, their version of a green salad had large pieces of lettuce and little flavor…very disappointing if you have ever had fabulous Mexican food.

Everything was spot on here. The flavor combinations, the textures, the presentation, the portions. Amazing! My only complaint about this place was that I was too hot sitting under the heating lamps on their patio.

Good seafood tower but a bit pricey. Excellent grilled shrimp and squid

Came here for a client dinner the other day and it was amazing!! Staff was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. They were able to accommodate my late resi on the patio and I was worried about the cold but… it’s a Covered backyard patio that is heated!! Ugh and the food, everything was amazing. Started with the clams and ceviche, both super fresh, unique and delicious. My co worker got the turbot and it was HUGE. So yummy tho. I got the pescado zarandeado, also yummy. You must try the Camarones tho, it was probably my favorite and everything was beyond. I wish I took photos but it was just too tasty, we ate it all pretty quickly. Highly recommend!

Seafood quality was not up to snuff when I went. We ordered all of the fish tostadas, coctel mixto, the monkfish, the squid, and the aguachile. No acid present in any of these dishes and almost no flavor in the salsas. It did not capture the magic of mexican coastal cuisine for me. I think the idea was that the seafood quality would take center stage so hold back on flavors so maybe when the quality is higher the concept makes sense. I guess I’ll have to come back when a new seafood shipment comes in.

I kind of expected to be underwhelmed by this place because I'm only so-so on Suerte (it's fine, but not outstanding in my book). But, my wife and I were curious, so we dropped by around 9pm on a Saturday night, without reservations, to check it out. We didn't think we'd get in, but to our surprise, they were able to seat us immediately.
Long story short, we loved it. Loved everything we got, especially the tuna tiradito and the shell-on grilled shrimp dish. Don't be squeamish, just crunch it, head and all. Really delicious. The mixed seafood coctel was also very satisfying and fresh.
Yes, it's pricey. Pricey enough that it probably won't be a regular on our rotation. But if our experience is indicative, this is going to be a fun restaurant to watch as it develops. I was impressed by how "together" everything was for it only having been open for a month.
Also, the space is lovely. We have many fond memories from that restaurant space from when it was Eastside Cafe, so it was fun to see the newest iteration.

So the restaurant is pretty and clean. I went with my husband yesterday. We had a reservation at seven, but we were there early, so we sat in the bar (which was ok). The food was delicious, the music perfect, the people friendly, and the cocktails and the carajillos were very, very good. My 3-star review is because while we were drinking some delicious cocktails I ordered a coke and saw how the bartender didn't put all the cans in my glass. I just thought it was because since I was in front of him, he would wait and serve me the rest of the coke later (my thought-great service). He puts the can aside and then sees how with that same coke (mine and another one that was already aside) gives a coke for another table. My husband orders another $4.00 coke, and I ask the bartender if I can have the can, and he looks at me as if I was asking for a free margarita and gives me my can with dissatisfaction. It's not the $4.00 coke. Is why do you sell a completely new coke to another table with someone else's open cans? I just can't stand when something is unfair, and that little detail really bothered me.
The check at the end was a little overpriced, but it was worth it.
My lesson learned is to always ask for a close can with a glass of ice (safer and better).
