El Alma

A cozy rooftop bar in Barton Springs. It was a warm and humid day when we stopped for cold drinks and they didn’t disappoint. We didn’t eat but the food that went by us looked good.

I really enjoyed the food options at Alma. The dishes are traditional with a twist and have ingredients I don't normally see at regular Mexican food spots but that remind me of my mom's home cooked meals. Prices are fair and the margaritas tasty.

I was very underwhelmed with my experience. I had this egg over cheese quesadillas and sauce. Left me feeling real hungry. Could have included rice and beans and would have been better. Staff and location are nice though.

We visited Austin for the Fourth of July weekend. This place was delicious, I had the Sopa Azteca and my husband the Camarones a la Plancha, for drinks Mangorita and Mexican Old Fashion. Will be definitely come back in our next trip.

Always a great spot for a margarita. Some of the most elevated rellenos and tacos in all of Austin, especially the duck options. Parking can be tricky on popular nights. Really strong vegetarian options as well, and even tempt this omnivore to a vegetarian meal from time to time.

The staff and service provided are very good. Sofia is great, she is knowledgeable about the offerings and has a pleasant personality. I had the Angus steak which was good but needed more seasoning.

This is one of my favorite restaurants, and definitely my favorite all-time piña colada — which is controversial since they use tequila instead of rum. I always order the ceviche and never quite finish it.

The food is an embarrassment. This is our third time trying it out of convenience since we live close but it’ll be our last.

The portions are small, presentation is sloppy and flavor is 5/10.

Good ambience, great margaritas, and super good service! Would definitely come back.

Wonderful Patio. Excellent service and food. Free chips and dual salsa outstanding. Tuna ceviche excellent. Soup only OK. Happy Hour savings.
