If I had two meals to eat in Austin, I'd eat them both at Comedor. We literally had to cancel one dish because we were so full from what we had ordered. Every dish was intricately prepared and presented and the service was amazing. They answered all our questions about the dishes and even wished me a happy birthday on the way in (presumably my wife had tipped them off).
Our favorite dish was the squash with a mole rosa (not pictured), but we also loved the nopal tostada, the goat barbacoa tamal, and the fritters. The tuna confused us a little but was still very tasty. We ended it with the chamomile mousse.
On top of all the food, the space is gorgeous. The glass brick is really cool, letting the traffic create interesting lighting patterns without having to literally watch fifth street traffic go by, and the outdoor area somehow manages to turn the side of an old garage into a fascinating space.

Amazing and worth the visit. Make a reservation in advance, unless you can find a spot at the bar for happy hour (which I need to attend soon). Great atmosphere and environment with a focus on specialty cocktails and exquisite food. Their most popular dish is the bone marrow tacos which we ordered. Loved the margaritas they made, ordered spicy margs and enjoyed. The only pitfall we had was the reservation we made was for the patio. However, when we got there they said the patio was full. Either way, specialty restaurant for special occasions.

Pretty place. The portions, level of deliciousness and prices do not add up. Small amount of very standard-tasting food (& drink) for a very high price point

Other than the fact that the place feels like New York, the food was so good. The service was flawless. The Huauzontle Fritters was so good, I would recommend that you try it.
One issue, the bathroom light was very dim.
The hostesses were helpful and the waitress was very knowledgeable on what she was selling. when you are there, remember to take a look at the ceiling. Entrance is tricky, hard to find. Expect an average of 75 dollars per person, it’s not a cheap place.... but it worth it.

Great ambience and location makes it great for a date or a celebration. It's Mexican-inspired newbie offers some great options such as their Cochinita Pibil tacos al vapor which are a sui generis version of Mexican tacos de canasta or their battered fish tacos which are delicious (rockfish or tile fish). I would skip their bone marrow... That's just a tourist trap d:

Unbelievable restaurant. One of the best meals I've ever had. If you like upscale Mexican food, go here. I was blown away.

I loved the drinks. The bone marrow tacos, octopus and aguachile were otherworldly good, truly! 10/10 would happily eat here again.

Great terrace, outstanding happy hour: come on good weather and for unique drinks after work. Our server was super nice and helpful. We had the halibut tacos and loved them! Ask for the secret drinks to the bar tender 👀

Interesting flavors and great atmosphere. Dishes were well-presented and unique. Some of what we tried was a bit too spice-forward for my group, but others had a good balance. Cocktails were excellent. Honestly, the agua fresca might have been as good as the cocktails.

Amazing and innovative food, great ambiance, and fun desserts. We probably tried everything on the menu and each dish blew us away. Be prepared to try incredible house made tortillas and dishes with exotic ingredients!
