Came here for our anniversary and Fitz was our server. We had an amazing experience and the food was all delicious! The staff signed a card for us, it was so sweet! We will be coming back.

Comedor is worth every award it’s received. The meal was amazing, we had several types of the house breads, chilaquiles, and the fried chicken sandwich. The chilaquiles were spicier than anticipated, but still very good. The ambiance of the restaurant is very well thought out, and the bar is also really pretty! All in all, great spot for brunch (and I’m sure other meals too)! Cant wait to go back!

One of the best dinners we've had in Austin! The Tuna Aguachile was our favorite, but every dish was perfection. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Their cocktail menu is overseen by Garage Bar next door, and the Xoco cocktail is smooth and delicious. The ambiance is intimate and dark, in the best way possible. Can't wait to return!

This restaurant is amazing!!!!!!! The thought and complexity put into their salsas is mind blowingly delicious.
You have to get the tostada and bone marrow id you come here:
Smoked tuna, octopus, shrimp, cilantro emulsion, salsa macha tostada. I cant say this enough. 5/5
Also tried the happy hour tacos 4/5 - pescado frito, carnitas, and lengua. All amazing too!! Still not as good as the tostada lol
Bone marrow tacos 5/5 - you get sooo much bone marrow!! Large portion, rich, delicious
Tuna aguachile 3/5 - not amazing, not bad

Beautiful vibes. Gorgeous light on the inside. Love the simple and dark design. The food is delicious. We went with some pros, so I didn’t have to order anything, but everything that was brought out was amazing. Staff was kind and stylish. 10/10 would return. Ps - I never thought I would eat a bone marrow taco 🌮 and love it... yet here we are (drool... 🤤) Don’t leave without ordering that dish.

So disappointing.... recommended by several friends, we eagerly made reservations. parking for $10 a night next door, beautiful building/location, excellent wait staff, including changing a drink because of my preferences
The pros stops here.
Starters: we had tostadas (or should I say mini tostadas as these were ridiculously small): the avocado one was so weird: avocado spread and two little pieces of broccoli on top ($13) The smoked pescado one had a generous amount of fish on it, but lacked flavor (which would be a theme this evening) except for the price: $16 for a singly tiny tostada.
As mains we were interested in steak and lamb. We asked our waitress what she thought of the choice and she mentioned it would be protein heavy and we recommended we order some side. Unfortunately there are no vegetable sides on the menu so we want for the quesadilla : again no spices and $23 for one tortilla (home made i recognized) filled with cheese and beans.
At this point i want to emphasize that I am not objecting to hefty prices per say: we did order two main at $70 each. I do not mind paying that much money when the food is delicious, well prepared, well seasoned, and has good portions, but this was not the case.
The lamb - wrapped in banana leaves - had few spices and no vegetables, except a few sweet potatoes mixed in - potatoes that themselves had not been spiced.
The only redeeming dish was The 44 farms NY strips: well cooked, but again not well seasoned and served with a few lonely turnips.
will not go back

We had heard so many great things about the Comedor that I was concerned our first visit wouldn't live up to the hype. I am so glad to report the experience not only met our expectations, it exceeded them.
We were fortunate to have the weather cooperate, so sitting on the outdoor patio, on a cool, yet comfortable evening added to the experience.
Service was friendly, yet professional. We elected to sample tapas style allowing for each dish to come out as it was ready. My photos don't do justice to the tastes 😊

A really fantastic restaurant -- The food and drinks were superb and extremely well thought out, but not overly fancy or with obscure ingredients for no reason. The setting is really nice too and reminded me of some nice places in MX City with the courtyardesque vibe.

The food is really amazing here! Our server, Anthony, was well versed in the drink and food menus. He had shared his favourites with us as and we thoroughly enjoyed the ones we selected based on his recommendations. The presentation and taste profiles were top notch. We had the bone marrow, scallop civiche, bean and Texan mushroom dishes. All were uniquely delicious.
