Beautiful restaurant and amazing food! Cocoa tails were delicious! Pretty pricey, but definitely a unique experience!

Service is great. You should do what I did, and just have the staff order for you. They know what’s good, and if you don’t mind spending a couple hundred then it is an incredible experience.

Beautiful restaurant downtown Austin. The black interiors beautifully merge with large industrial windows. The outdoor patio is very private as it’s wrapped between buildings.
The cuisine is an elevated Mexican which great attention to ingredients and deep rich flavors. Ordered too much so didn’t have space for desserts! Will come back!

I really liked Comedor. Loved the high ceilings, large windows, and industrial feel to the building. Lots of concrete, steal, and wood. The menu and cocktail list is meant to give an interior mexico vibe. Plates are encouraged to share. Usually that means they are small, but these were quite large and I appreciated that for the price. We went for brunch and ordered the Chiliaquiles and Pambazo. The Pambazo shined through the most and was delicious! The chorizo, beans, egg, and Avacado meshed wonderfully in the chilé guajillo soaked bread. Unfortunately that was the last day they were serving it, as it will be replaced with a new sandwich style option. The chiliaquiles were good, but I prefer the tortillas on the crispy side and these were soaked in the sauce. Drinks we had Mateo's Breakfast, the Sotol Cucumber, and the Comedor Margarita. The Marg was perfectly balanced. Mateo's was a lovely Mexican take on a caipirinha. The Sotol for me was good, but I needed just a little more sweetness maybe from an additional fruit juice added. Had a wonderful time, only reason it's getting a 4 star instead of a 5 is that they had the outdoor patio door open and flys had found there way in to dine with us.

The place was a tad too dark, vibe was great and food was good. Nothing out of this world but worth trying. I would come back for drinks only.

Good food with beautiful presentation for each dish, bone marrow tacos definitely a must try.

I went here on a Friday night at 7PM and sat at the bar. It was full but didn't seem too crowded. The food, ambiance, and cocktails were all fantastic (albeit a bit pricey). I had the quesadilla, some tuna ceviche dish, vegetarian tamale, the bone marrow tacos, and an interesting chocolate tamale dessert. They gave us the tuna dish on the house due to the longish wait for some of the other food, but I didn't mind since the ambiance was on point. All in all, a fantastic dining experience even if I left feeling a bit too full. The only underwhelming dish was the dessert (tamal de chocolate) IMO. It was just a weird combination of cornmeal and chocolate that I wasn't really into.

Wonderful dinner. We loved the space, a beautifully designed two-story main dining room with floor to ceiling glass windows, plus an elegant patio where we ate. Service was excellent. And the food... Food was so interesting and tasty. We loved the tuna aguachile and the bone marrow tacos, both delicious and complex flavors and textures that were super satisfying! Our thoughtful server also provided a special side of the huitlacoche and cremini mushrooms that typically come in the quesadilla, since I wanted to try huitlacoche - it was sublime, highly recommend! Also, the hibiscus agua Fresca was great - bright, acidic, not to sweet, full of flavor. The only thing I would skip next time is the market salad, which was pretty boring. Hope we can come back and try more someday!

Impeccable is the word that comes to mind. It's one of those places where the chef mixes flavors and creates a true unforgettable experience.
From the service, the drinks, the food, I could say this is one restaurant where you get quality.
It's special and I would love to go back.
