Bone Marrow Tacos!!!! EPIC!! Great service and super delicious food! Family style dishes, which is cool however the avocado tostada was tiny and not very shareable among 4 people so you’ll need to order a couple of them so you can really enjoy it - everything else was great though and shareable for a table of 4!

The restaurant is beautifully done, and has a cool inner courtyard. As for food, I recommend the seafood tostada and the fish tacos were surprisingly amazing. The dessert (Mexican adffogato) was a bit underwhelming but still good.

The food was wonderful, presentation was phenomenal. Finally a restaurant who sources, prepares and presents a steak properly. The temp was perfect, you can tell it was rested, and the accoutrements were not over powering or forced upon the diner. Really fantastic.

I don’t need to say anything about the bone marrow, good lord what a dish.

But our favorite part of the night was the staff. Everyone was so pleasant and engaging. Instead of our reserved table, we opted for the bar- and this brings us to our new friend Seth. Seth exemplifies what service can and should be. Great energy, very knowledgeable, and timed all of our food and drink so perfectly. We had some lovely conversation when time allowed for it, and it really just put the whole experience on another level.

Thank you for such a lovely evening.

If you are in Austin and want to have a gourmet experience you can’t miss this place. Trust me when I tell you I am a VERY picky person when it comes to food. And when it comes to Mexican food even more since I have had the luck to visit Mexico City for years besides part of my family lives there.
Having said this; here is “Comedor”
The moment you enter this well distributed, decorated and remodeled building you know you’re in a special place. The interior design taken care by Olson Kundig is immaculate creating two different atmospheres with class and modernism.
The service stuff knows what they are doing and taking apart the little extra time we had to wait to get started (they were pretty packed to be fair) everything else went on wheels. Hand crafted michelada that tasted like heaven under the hot night of Austin gave pace to a bunch of well presented tasty starters. We were a big group so had the chance to try a LOT of their dishes. Good wine selection, we went for a good Rioja that pairs perfectly with this type of food. And then… a life changing signature dish “Bone Marrow Tacos” came in last to wrap up a great culinary experience.

Service was amazing and was extremely knowledgeable on all dishes and Mezcal! The food was also very good and unique. The building was so cool and had amazing steel structure.
Only problem is I walked by the entrance 2 times before realizing it. Its actually pretty cool..

We didn't have a reservation, but we showed up early, and the hostess graciously showed us to a table for two. We were in Dallas for a 2-day business trip and opted to try appetizers at several highly recommended spots. Comedor is apparently known for their bone marrow tacos. That sounded delicious so we headed that direction. As far as the atmosphere goes, this place was one of the cooler spots we visited. It was industrial yet quaint and romantic. Our server was sharp, highly educated about the menu, and was quick to offer suggestions when we asked. As much as we wanted the bone marrow tacos, we couldn't stomach the price, so we opted for charred octopus, the beef tartare, and a tuna aguachili dish. We really enjoyed all three dishes but kicked ourselves for not ordering the bone marrow. Maybe on our next visit....

Lovely location, very efficient service, good food, but this place did not live up to expectations. Service was rushed, and not until we got to the half chicken were any of us (four) inspired.

Having eaten at Pujol several times, I’m not sure these two should be compared.

For the price point and expectations disappointment we feel like we are one and done.

Step through the dark door and you are immediately transported to the heart of Mexico City. The natural light that fills the space is beautiful and the interior turns to an intimate warm space as the sun goes down. The fish tacos, chicken mole and quesadilla are some of my favorites. Definitely a top tier interior Mexican food experience in Austin!
Valet is offered and be sure to make a reservation on Resy.

Arriving a few minutes after Comedor opened, I was welcomed by the peace and beauty of the space. The service team was incredibly attentive and in pursuit of creating the best experience possible for me.

I started my meal with the Bloody Mayhuel and loved the smokiness the mezcal brought to this brunch time staple. Followed by a rich and savory Beef Short Rib Pazole paired with fresh adornments.

I felt comfort through each sip and bite of my delicious meal and was conscious to slow down and enjoy the time I was spending at Comedor.

We really enjoyed the Tacos de pecados, great texture combinations and sauce. The grilled octopus was a pleasant surprise, the smokiness of octopus and sourness from the pickles worked really well.

Not a fan of the duck mole , a little too bitter for our liking. bone marrow taco was too rich and a little too sweet.

Overall, great dinning experience, attentive service. The menu is fun but can be a hit and miss.
