Better Half Coffee & Cocktails

Awesome courtyard restaurant in Austin for a group, brunch, etc. Food options were great and drinks were amazing. Would definitely come again!

This might be the best brunch in Austin! Everything is cooked to perfection. The famous cauliflower tots deserve their reputation, as does their Better Half Breakfast Sandwich. I'd add a sausage patty to the sandwich for a perfect balance of savory flavors. Also add one of their cocktails as a perfect round out of flavor. Everything is delicious and no choice is poor.

Completely overrated. You’ll find this restaurant on many lists if you Google search “best brunch in Austin”. Unfortunately, this place doesn’t live up to the hype. The food is mediocre at best, takes a long time to be served up, and the coffee is sub-par as well.

Perhaps this place is better for a drink outside, but do not waste your time or your money here.

Breakfast sandwich is totally blah. Chicken biscuit sandwich is too salty, and pancakes are too sour with the lemon paste thing. Also way too much blueberry.

Also, the benches aren’t super clean.

The parking situation could be improved. There does not appear to be a sufficient amount to accommodate the number of patrons.

Other than that, the food was good and service was friendly and helpful. I would recommend the cauliflower tots and beets ketchup.

Nice outdoor seating with chill vibes and good food / drinks. Parking is limited and can get very busy so be patient and plan accordingly.

Parked in the gravel parking they share with a brewery next door to get a coffee, didn’t realize it came with an obnoxious sticker on my car as well. The rosemary lavender latte was good though.

Food is tasty don’t get me wrong, I’ve eaten here once before. But this time, we were waiting an hour and 30 minutes to get any of our meal (ordered 2 apps and 1 burger)… when we placed our order at the counter, we were told it would be an hour wait for the burger but we would get our appetizers before then, which seemed reasonable to us.

However, after waiting 1.5 hrs without any of our meal, we did have to ask to cancel our order because we didn’t plan to spend the entire afternoon there hanging out.

I think if this place is consistently busy, they should either scale up the kitchen staff, or limit the seating that’s available.

Delicious place for brunch! Outdoor seating only with reservations required, I think there’s a 1 1/2 hour or two hour limit for the table, not a huge deal. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everything we ordered was delicious but the biggest surprise were the cauliflower tator tot with beet ketchup. I could eat bowls of them and bowls of them.

The food and service are decent, but I don't think I would come back due to the long wait time for the food.
