The Standard

We have eaten here a number of times. Excellent place. Been to nashville a few times this past year and will be back again. During these times we have eaten at different restaurants to see what else is out there. All were rated upscale restaurants I assure you they were not. One place due to cross contamination with shrimp my wife spent the weekend in the bathroom. At this point the standard remains by far the best place we have eaten. Beautiful place bar is incredible food although a lot is excellent.

Our first time girls trip in Nashville. Loved the food, atmosphere , as well as the history of the restaurant.

It's the oldest private residence in Nashville, met the hostess who was lovely and all the staff were great! We had dinner at a private event in the wine cellar and all food was fantastic . As well they have a spin on the Old Fashioned, called the New Fashioned... It's worth a try!

One of our new favorite restaurants. Food was cooked perfect and delicious. Excellent service from everyone especially our servers Allen and Heath. This will always be at the top of our list of places to dine when we visit Nashville. Even though it was as first time here we were treated like old friends. Extremely warm and welcoming environment. Thank you everyone at the Standard for a fabulous evening and we will be returning soon! 5 stars.

My experience at The Standard was absolute perfection. From the minute we arrived, our evening was just lovely. The parking valet was friendly, courteous and informative. Mrs. Smith greeted us and gave us a brief introduction to the restaurant, then escorted us to the bar area. You can tell how much pride in and love she has for this beautiful place and it was reflected in the comments from all the employees we encountered during our visit. We had the Lira cocktail, which was so delicious and enjoyed them sitting in comfortable armchairs in front of a lovely fire. The bartenders were courteous and welcoming.

We were then escorted to our table, and our service from our waiter, Heath, couldn't have been better. He was incredibly helpful, polite and so informative about the menu choices. The food was wonderful! I had the filet and my daughter had the Chilean Sea Bass and we wouldn't have changed a thing. The "deconstructed" apple pie Heath recommended for dessert was so good it left us speechless. All in all, The Standard is the best restaurant I've ever been to in Nashville and, frankly, the best restaurant experience I've had anywhere. Everything about it aligned to make it a perfect 10 for us and I'm grateful I live in the area, because I intend to be back as often as possible. The Standard is the standard by which I'll be judging other restaurants from now on.

One of the best meals I have had in Nashville. Started with a mix of appetizers, each one superb in their own way. Had an entree of the Chilean sea bass with a Black Manhattan to drink. Ended the meal with a JD Single Barrel served neat. Delicious at every step.

What a fantastic place. From the staff, to the drinks, the food, the history and the hospitality I loved everything about this place. We went for my friends bachelorette party and it was a phenomenal experience. Highly recommend! Make a reservation well ahead of time if you want to eat here.

We were here to celebrate our friends 50th birthday and they were Soo nice & accommodating. Beautiful building, wonderful service, and fantastic food! We plan to be back!

This place is incredible. Old, classic house with old school style and service. The pork chop was like eating desert. Very, very special place.

What an experience. We went here for a large party dinner, 20 of us, they seated us in a private dining room. Mrs Smith came out and gave us the history of the house and restaurant which was fascinating. They have done a great job keeping this prime example of mid 19th century architecture as close as possible to how it would have looked back in its prime. If you haven’t dined here you need to!
