My wife took me here for my birthday. It was really a phenomenal experience.

The service is truly professional - our waiter gave excellent recommendations and he made us feel like the night was ours - to take our time, enjoy the food, and even provided some history.

The food was amazing. Everything we had was delicious and worth every penny.

The atmosphere was elegant - it felt very classy with many original pieces yet subtle improvements that make it feel ageless. It was quiet and peaceful but not too quiet to feel uncountable having a conversation.

Highly highly recommend and will be going back the next chance I get!

An all around phenomenal experience! Upon online reservation we received a confirmation call from hostess, Chelsea whom we also notified that there was a birthday in our party (a very nice touch you don’t find anymore when dining out). From there, she and the team got us first acquainted at the bar for drinks by the fireplace followed by dinner in a small intimate room.

Nash, our waiter was excellent! His suggestions were spot on, leaving us satisfied and assured in our orders. The calamari was crispy, airy, and tender. The crab bisque was loaded with meat and an overall well balanced broth.

The pork chop cut like butter. That simple. Sides were hearty and plentiful. Overall you definitely get a good amount for what you pay for here. If I having to choose one dessert, go with the warm cookie a la mode. It’s made to order and with a healthy scoop of ice cream.

The Standard definitely says it all in it’s name when it comes to quality, care, and hospitality. If you’re looking for a unique and memorable experience I can’t recommend this place enough.

The food was absolutely amazing! We started with calamari & lobster dip. Both were GREAT! I got the strip steak and it was SO flavorful and juicy. Nash was our waiter & he was very nice. Can’t wait to go back! Pricing is good for a fancy dinner. 2 apps. 2 steaks. 2 sides & 2 alcoholic drinks for around $250

The service at the Standard is top notch! 5 out of 5 stars for the ambiance, the history of the house and restaurant, and the quality and freshness of the food. From the moment we pulled up, there was a representative outside giving us some of the history of the house and escorting us in to another welcoming hostess. The server was amazing. Very friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable of the menu. The lamb chops and creamed corn are definitely a must try! We also received complimentary glasses of champagne for our anniversary. Please visit The Standard if you are in Tennessee for an upscale experience outside of the bar scene with big flavors, history, and five star customer service.

We were visiting Nashville for the first time and made reservations here for dinner. From the moment we walked up the house and all throughout our meal, it was a wonderful experience. We were greeted by the owner and she shared some of the history of the house and walked us back to the bar to have drinks before our table was ready. The food was excellent and it was a really great atmosphere dining in a mansion that has had so much history. I would recommend this as a place to stop anytime you are in town.

Southern charm and hospitality! Located in a historic town home tucked away on 8th Ave in downtown Nashville.

I had the sea bass with mashed potatoes and creamed corn - really good! The deconstructed apple pie for dessert was delicious!

My only complaint was the smell of musty cigar smoke when you walked in the front door, I believe there is a cigar lounge on the upper floor.

The staff were all great!

This experience should get bonus stars! Among the fanciest and classiest restaurants I've ever been in, and by all rights should have had an air of superiority but everyone there was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and felt like they were old friends welcoming us into their home.

The food was amazing, the drink selection was intimidating but easy to find something wonderful, and the atmosphere and staff were second to none.

Fairly pricy, but completely worth it for the experience and the food really was fantastic.

I always enjoy taking myself out when traveling, and finding something that my taste buds deserve is nice. I had never been to The Standard, and figured during my first Nashville visit why not really treat myself to something good. The Standard is that and more!
First, the owner, Sharon is an amazing host. We were informed about the lovely history of the establishment, she led us to our table, and made sure we were comfortable where we sat.
Next, the atmosphere. Very timely, feels large, feels special, and feels cozy. This building has been around for over a century but they took care of it, and I felt like I found a secret treasure coming here.
The staff was very kind and dressed well. The menus are slim and simple, which is great. I did not feel at all overwhelmed by the options, and everything sounded so good. The wine menu looked very good and the desserts 👌🏽 ...my goodness!
I got myself the sea bass. Probably one the worst decisions I could make... because now The Standard...is the standard! It was absolutely delicious. Followed up so well after the calamari and lobster dip for appetizers. I recommend both of those. The sea bass was cooked perfectly and presented with such care. The filet my friends ordered was cooked just as well and they loved it.
Now, let me tell you about these desserts. That chocolate cookie and ice cream has never tasted this good. It did not at all feel like too much after the main course. My stomach had the space.
The appetizers are not overbearing, the entrees are not too large and fill you up just enough. The sides (I had the mac and cheese) are such a tasty surprise. The dessert was the cherry on top!
I will be returning when I head back to Nashville, that is for sure!
As far as price, it may be on the higher end, sure, but this is a treat everyone should experience, if they are able to.

Quiet ambiance with a southern welcome that is enveloped in history. One of my favorite places in Nashville. Coming here always feels like you’re visiting a dear friend due to the warm and friendly staff. Delicious food, great service. Highly recommend.

The dining experience was just that, an experience, not just dinner. From the meet and greet at the gate to the desert and everything in between this was perfection through and through. The lobster bisque is a must! The main course, bursting with flavor! Not just salt and pepper or generic seasoning but true flavor in every single bite!
