Applecake Tea Room

I've been coming here with family and friends for years. I don't even live in Knoxville anymore, but whenever I'm in town (or even passing through town during lunchtime), I make sure to stop at the Applecake Tea Room. I can't recommend this place enough.

My high school aged daughter and I stopped here for lunch on a shopping trip to Knoxville. The atmosphere was homey and rustic….perfect respite from the busy interstate. We were promptly seated and pleasantly greeted by our server. My daughter had a croissant sandwich and I had the medley plate. Our food was delicious! We made sure to save room for the apple cake with ice cream, it too was delicious. We will definitely be back!

Charming little tea themed country style restaurant and store. Open from 11AM to 2PM. Many lunch items priced under $10. Most of their teas can be served hot or cold. Nice selection of lunch sandwiches and salads, as well as desserts. The service was friendly and the atmosphere quaint.

We hosted my sister's bridal tea at Applecake Tea Room and it was lovely! It's unique charm is why my sister chose this location. We loved the convenience of having lunch taken care of so we could relax and visit. We had a small group and the upstairs private room was perfect for us. The staff was wonderful and friendly and I highly recommend it for any small group gathering or for a quick bite while you're in the area.

I planned a trip to the Tea Room with my daughter-in-law (some girl time); decided to read the reviews. Most of them were not very good. I almost decided to go elsewhere, but really wanted to show her the restaurant. So we went. It was wonderful! We were met with 3 smiling faces and quickly ushered in to a lovely room and seated. We both decided on the chicken salad sandwich and were pleasantly surprised at how quickly our food came. The sandwich was "huge" and so many chips. It was delicious. We couldn't eat all of it. The tea was great. I will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend the Tea Room. Thank you ladies for great service and great food!!!!!

The atmosphere is a cozy cabin feel. The food and service has always been good the times I have been. It is a regular date spot for me and fiance.

UPDATE 05/10/2022-
This time I had the turkey and gravy that came with a salad and half potato. Everything was so good. The Spiced Friendship Tea is wonderful. I found out they sell the tea loose leaf and had to buy some.
Apple Cake Tea Room is a place you have to try.

A wonderful relaxing place to have lunchY. This was my second visit to Applecake Tea Room. Although I looked at several items on the menu, I again ordered the Tea Room Medley, which includes two my favorite items from the restaurant- homemade chicken salad and their banana nut bread with a cream cheese filling. The menu calls this medley "delightful!" And it is.
Everyone in my party enjoyed their food, the service, and the atmosphere. This is a must-try place and good for groups.
And while you're there try the Spiced Friendship Tea (hot or iced). It too is delightful.

This place is phenomenal! I’m not sure why people only mention “girls day out” and “caters to women.” My husband and I go here all the time and we often see men in there. Anyway. The TeaRoom medley is my favorite as you get the delicious chicken salad and banana bread, among other things. My husband is a vegetarian and he loves the fresh fruit salad and on occasion the quiche when they serve one with no meat. The atmosphere is cozy and especially wonderful during the colder months when the fireplace is lit. We have never had anything but excellent service. The only thing I wish were different are the hours...would love later hours and to be able to go on Sunday.
