It was a very nice shop. The food was good and the coffee was even better.

Great coffee - we ordered iced coffees online and they had it chilled in the fridge on our arrival!

Morning coffee stop if you need an espresso fix. Good coffee too. Support local and enjoy a cup in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Plenty of seating inside, limited seating outside, free wifi. Start your day with a cup from Poet's.

I'm working on a personal record of going to Poet's all seven days of the week. My current streak is four in a row, because it is just that good.
Whether you want a regular cup of drip coffee, a double shot of espresso, an iced mocha, or a blended frozen chocolate chai tea with soy (yes, you can get that), this place has got it all. Not to mention some of the nicest staff around.
Recently updated (not gonna lie, I liked the orange walls, but this works too), the ambiance is conducive to creativity, chatting with friends, or writing a resume--whatever you want to do. The back room even has four-person tables where you can spread out, just try to get there before they're all taken.
Seriously, if you like local business, if you like coffee, if you like having a place to hang out four evenings out of the week (and believe me, I am not the only one who does that), check out Poet's. You won't be disappointed.

The best coffee in Cookeville! Also the best chicken salad! One of my first stops when visiting again from Colorado! You have to try their chocolate chip espresso muffins also!

I say this to everyone I meet, as an avid coffee drinker, it's become for a lot of things a social matter. People drink coffee much as they do at bars or for alcoholic purposes when they are together, and I would undoubtably say the same goes for coffee nowadays. This means that you can have great coffee but if your interior design and comfort is not well laid out, your business as a sit down coffee restaurant will falter. Poet's definitely handles their customers sense of comfort with their experience. It's an extremely comforting interior, and with some great drinks to go along with it. As a smaller town coffee shop, it sits well into the Cookeville area and Tech campus. And, as a college student myself, I look forward to the Weekend when I can go and get caught up on emails and enjoy a great sense of peacefulness that comes with a cup at Poet's. If in Cookeville, add it to your list, it's one to check in on. Love it.

Affordable, cozy, vegetarian friendly. The selection is small, but diverse. The magic bagel with pesto was amazing! It's got a really friendly, artsy, bookish atmosphere.

Small coffee shop conveniently located and moderately priced with pretty good food and plenty of seating and prompt service. Simply clean and peaceful. The menu is a little limited with the food but what they do serve they do well.

My brother and I both loved this place when we visited Cookeville. I ordered an iced Americano and can honestly say it was the best Americano I've ever had. Their espresso is the great. Would go back just for that, and to buy one of their cute mugs.

Local coffee shop with specialty coffees, limited foods and snacks, and both indoor and outdoor seating very close to downtown square. Popular spot for young people, college students, and local residents in the know. One of the best coffee shops in town.
