Must stop in Cookeville. Magic cheese is delicious

Super friendly staff, great customer service, and top notch drinks. Teas, iced drinks and, of course, coffees are all high quality and the menu is well balanced. The sandwiches are solid, light fare and everything is reasonably priced. Poet’s may not have any competition in Cookeville, but they don’t take that for granted. They maintain an environment for easy talking up front and keep space for quiet study or reading in the back. I’ve been a faithful customer for the past 4 years and I can’t imagine a better place to spend Saturday mornings!

My family and I have been going to Poet's for a long time, and we felt a review is in overdue. I find it difficult to understand how someone said the coffee was "just okay". There is a board-full of different kinds to choose. That's like going to a specific movie and saying it was "just okay", but you saw that "one" and now you don't like ANY of the movies showing at the theater. Huh? Pick a different one.
There is so much to choose from and the workers are so extremely polite and respectful and I enjoy talking to them... they make it a pleasure to be there. It also has a great atmosphere and reasonable prices. Even if you don't like coffee, there are many other drinks. There is no reason to not go. We love it.

They have great coffee! That being said, sometimes they goof it. Not a really big deal. We ordered two of the same thing, only got one, the guy was nice, made a joke about not being able to read, and made our next one promptly. They also have a lot of off beat thing-a-ma-jigs to peruse while you wait. I recommend the extra shot iced white chocolate mocha if you want to keep yourself awake for the next 10 hrs! Zing!!!!

Love the atmosphere. Coffee is pretty good. They'll make pretty specific orders. (Like a French press) I've lived in Cookeville and have grown up in all variations that Poet's has seen. It's the best local coffee shop I've been to.

First time going, and we were not disappointed! I loved the acai bowl (GF), and the vanilla chai was fabulous!

A quaint café, with plenty of seating and in warmer weather minimal outside sidewalk seating is available. The employees were dressed casual, and were very friendly and helpful.

The coffee was delicious. I would say that they skimped a little bit on the pimento spread for my Bacon Pimento croissant, but I always like a lot of sauce or spread on my sandwiches, so I don't know what a "normal" amount would be anyway, lol. I recommend this place for a casual one time visit or multiple visits if you are in the area. Enjoy.

What a great place to be! The atmosphere makes me feel proud to be a Cookeville resident. Poet's even goes so far as to place locally made art by local artists, and uses their shop as a venue for said artists! This independent company strives to give you a quality product and shines remarkably with each one of my visits. The drink menu is diverse enough for everyone to find something that they like with little stress on the wallet. I love this place and would recommend it any day of the week!

The coffee is delicious and energizing. The atmosphere is relaxing, and there's an area in the back perfect for working or studying. The employees are super friendly. I've scoured Atlanta to find a coffee shop as great as this one and have failed miserably.

Breakfast sandwiches were great but restrooms are nasty. Floors and toilets hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. If we had not been able to see food prep area we would not have stayed there to eat.
