We stopped in for a good cup of coffee while driving through but ended up ordering a couple of breakfast burritos and a bagel sandwich as well. Everything was cooked fresh in front of us and was absolutely delicious! The coffee was great also and the staff was super nice and helpful. We’ll definitely go out of our way to visit again!

The wife and I were looking for a place in Hot Springs for a quick bite. It was Saturday and there wasn't much open. We decided to try the Wandering Bison based on their online menu. Rhonda was on duty and took out order. I chose the ham and cheese, while the wife chose the special...corned beef on rye with all the fixings. Rhonda admitted that she wasn't really experienced with the corned beef, but would do her best. The sandwiches arrived after a short wait. Both were expertly done, regardless of Rhonda's doubt and we enjoyed the meal. We highly recommend giving the Wandering Bison a try. Wonderful food and more importantly, wonderful people.

The food was delicious and they would have gotten five stars however their customer service is lacking. Three of them up front working, waiting on a gentleman in a wheelchair, knew the gentleman. And when the gentleman was leaving not one could stop and open the door as the gentleman was struggling to open it. We helped and we were at the back of the restaurant, but I ask where has decency gone?

Hidden gem in Hot Springs. We had the breakfast burrito with the hatch green chili wow!!! Also the mediterranean panini ...both were well prepared and hit the spot. The coffee is delicious and the young male barista is well trained. The menu is priced right and you won’t be disappointed. Shop was busy, but the little wait was worth it. Thank you Wandering Bison Coffee.

We visited recently while on vacation, very disappointed, slow service and rude staff. We we waited over 20 minutes just to place our order, once we got to the register the girl behind the counter was not apologetic and made us wait even longer. Our relatives in town recommended this place so we really wanted to give then a chance and came back a second time. Our food took longer than expected, my bagel was greasy and my son's sandwich was burnt. Again not wanting to ruin our visit with relatives we made the best of it but I definitely would not recommend this place.

This place had great coffee and great sandwiches. I didn’t mind the wait bc there was a rush of people all ordering food and coffee with just two people working. They did a great job! Would stop here again while passing through!

This place bills itself as a cafe but it takes about as long as a regular restaurant, if not longer, to get your food. It's really cute on the inside and looks like a modern and hip place. The food was average and tuna salad was good, but there's a bunch more negatives than positives. When I ordered the tuna salad croissant, I was told they didn't have croissants, which is fine. The woman suggested sourdough bread or toasted sourdough bread. I tried to convince her that a panini type tuna sandwich would also be nice (think tuna melt) and she insisted warmed-up tuna salad would be "gross". An odd interaction but I didn't press further because I didn't want to be annoying. And then came the wait. We waited forever and ever for our food. I sat in the armchairs, I perused the wall art, until I finally stationed myself by the coffee machine to stare down the people that work there. Other people, who had come in after me, had started to complain about the wait, so I had to speak up to make sure the order was retained. I watched and watched as one man with a ponytail made all of the food. He never dawdled and worked hard. The woman who took our order was pleasant but disappeared, never to return. The dyed-red-haired woman pumped out the beverages quickly and did her best to stay upbeat and positive to all the customers. The problem wasn't really with these 2 as employees but their setup. They needed at least 1 other person working and definitely another cook. Their kitchen is small, much like in our houses, but an assistant could have thought ahead or prepped for the main guy, maybe worked the griddle, etc. When we eventually got our food, it wasn't delivered to us in to-go boxes, as we requested, thus another error in the chain. Like I said, the tuna salad was good but it was literally just tuna salad and bread. No lettuce, tomato, or cheese. Ugh.

Had the special (tomato bacon jam grilled cheese) and a turkey avocado sandwich, both were excellent. We've been in the road for a few days, and this is best meal we've had in a while.

Don't miss this as a respite from your day or touring the southern hills of South Dakota.

This place was my daughters favorite place to go but the time it took for our food which was always 2 sometimes 3 breakfast sandwiches and 2 coffee drinks, started to become longer and longer til the the point of waiting an hour. That was the last time I went there. The staff is not all that friendly anymore either. Now I go to morning sunshine much better place and we get our food fast.
