De Smet Mercantile & Coffeehouse

Great addition to a small town main street. Especially like the ice cream selections and the fact that it is from my alma mater. Good hot coffee during a brisk South Dakota winter morning is always welcome and they do have a drive through so you don't have to leave the warm comfort of your vehicle. There is also a shopping section though I can't really comment on it as I didn't do any shopping.

Have gotten coffee there a few times now n always amazing! Friendly staff willing to make suggestions, had my first food item there bout an hour ago, highly recommend the Cobb salad! 😍😋

I love stopping at The Merc for a drink and to check out the book selection. They are always friendly and helpful. The Merc has a great selection of gift items also.

My son and I stopped here for a quick bite to eat and a cup of coffee yesterday. My sandwich was delicious but so huge that I took half of it home and ate it several hours later. If anything it was even tastier after it had a chance for all the flavors to meld. The coffee was also outstanding. Seriously, this place is worth driving out of your way to frequent.

This is the cutest shop I could imagine, and I was so impressed with the food! Most certainly will be returning!

This little nook is so worth stopping for! Their hours are absolutely perfect & Every drink/ smoothie I’ve had here have been fantastic; my daughter loves the ‘owner-recommended’ Horchata smoothie (there is probably a more chic name for it :D ) - they are super accommodating for dairy allergies as well! (They have a selection of dairy free milks- so fantastic for small town USA)
If you’re looking for unique gifts or something to read, run here for an impressive selection, and be prepared to browse! I’ve only heard good about this gem from anyone who has taken time to stop here- we love that they’re in our small town!

This place is great! One wall of books, a few board games, puzzles, SD and LIW stuff and a bit of everything else. Ice cream and coffee. Two tables inside to sit at. Tables and chairs outside. This place will knock your socks off with their variety.

I LOVE their dishcloths. I enjoy going there but the girls behind the counter need to say thank you to they're customers. Especially when the customer says it to them. 🙂
