Overpriced and underwhelming. Used to be good but over the past several years has really gone downhill. The customer service is absolutely terrible. Bought three sandwiches and three coffees, only to have a coffee made incorrectly and one of the sandwiches forgotten. Then, instead of comping the forgotten sandwich like any normal business would, they charged me for the damn thing and never even offered to remedy the coffee. Try Hemingway's or anywhere else. Not worth your time

Good coffee and nice baristas/ service. When I read some of the reviews I decided to post mine since some of the low star reviews are misleading. Java Java most of the time so busy I’m surprised the baristas are as nice as they are…In the summer and holidays the line is out of the door long…the “on vacation crowd” sometimes rude and impatient. My orders are usually complicated (3 drinks, one decaf, half syrup, oat milk, the other is skim milk, matcha, etc) they almost always make sure that they understand it and prepare it how I want it. Yes, it takes long to get your drink/food when you had 10+ order ahead of you….

Quick service, limited indoor seating due to covid but there was outdoor seating available and everyone was wearing masks. I had an iced mocha latte and it was made to perfection. I also had the Lox - delicious, and my daughter had the walnut pesto croissant and it was so good I wished I had bought myself one of those too.

Good food and coffee, and great customer service. After visiting multiple times, I can honestly say the people that left bad customer service reviews think that someone that’s working at a coffee shop is their personal barista and treat the servers as such. I get it’s just outside the prestigious Kiowa island but it’s a coffee shop, not a golf resort or part of Kiowa island club.

The coffee is just as great as their hospitality. The employees are very kind and efficient when it comes to making coffee. I will definitely be going again!

Java Java is very expensive. We got 2 coffees, a waffle, and a bagel with avocado and sausage on it for $30.
All of the food and drinks were fantastic. The food tasted fresh, quality, and hot and was very filling. The drinks were definitely good coffee, and I recommend the lattes.
Great cute little atmosphere for a small place in the middle of a shopping center. Would recommend if you don't mind spending the extra money. Friendly service also.

I gave Java Java 2 stars because 2 is 20% of the available stars. 20% is my estimate of the percentage of times in which I have felt welcome by the staff over the last 5 years. The food is pretty good, but too expensive (especially when I am typically not welcomed).

love this place - spent a summer living and working on kiawah and this place was a regular spot for me. highlights are the greenery and cinnamon coffee cake, and the cold brew is wonderful!

The coffee is so yummy and their breakfast sandwiches are the best! Love going here dream about their lattes with vanilla bean powder♡

Very expensive, we had about $45 in two breakfast sandwiches, an iced coffee, smoothie, muffin and yogurt. There wasn’t anything really special about the food in appearance or flavor to help offset the price. Would have given a higher rating, but it wasn’t really the most welcoming atmosphere, either. For being the only local coffee shop on Kiawah, we were disappointed.
