My friends and I were looking for some good coffee and I found this on the map but weren’t sure if Cafecito was open since everything in the area was closed. We saw a Starbucks and were like, nah let’s check this place out. We walked in and apparently were their first customers! The owners were so kind and shared the story of their grandfather and how he inspired the creation of Cafecito ❤️ We ordered a ton of coffee, guava and cheese pastries, swag and snacks. It has such a lovely, unique design and the energy is great. I’m excited for Cafecito and their continued success! Hopefully we visit again soon!
Fantastic coffee and Cuban sandwich. Very legit. Items even shipped in from Miami. Quaint place with friendly staff and owners. I feel it will become a regular spot for us on King. We shared a sandwich and had coffees with guava pastries.
My husband is Cuban born and raised and he approves! We have been waiting for a Cuban option in Charleston, we were so happy to have Cafecito open up on King St. The sandwich bread is unique in that is soft and crispy at the same time. Sandwiches were really tasty. The cuban coffee is authentic, you don’t need milk or sugar added, it’s the perfect little size. We got the guava pastries and meat pastries, they are so flaky and soft! One of the sodas “Ironbeer” is a Cuban soda that we can’t agree if it’s more like vanilla or bubblegum flavor, either way it’s delicious and we have never seen another place we could buy it here in South Carolina. Highly recommend a visit to the little Cuban cafe!
Truly fantastic — possibly the best cup of coffee I had in Charleston! The cafe was clean, bright and cozy, and the guava cheese pastry was *divine*. Loved this spot! The fresh flower arrangements were a gorgeous touch, too.
Sooo good!! Everything was freshly made literally in front of us! The Empanadas were so flaky and flavorful. The sandwiches were a solid 11/10. We devoured them so fast that didn't even get a chance to take a picture!
Best “Cafe con Leche” I've had in Charleston. The staff is super friendly and the sandwiches are delicious. This time we went for an Elena Ruz and for its vegetarian option Caprese Cubano. I love the bar it has, it allows you a direct connection with the entire staff.
As a S. Floridian moved to Chs. in 1996, having an authentic Cuban Coffee shop in town is great. Walking in reminds me of my days in Miami and the keys. A cafecito and empanada to start my day can’t be beat.
So excited to have a Cuban cafe in town! Everything so far I've tried is delicious: pastelitos, cubanos, empanadas, café con leche, and more! Such a relaxed atmosphere too with great owners and staff!
For the people that are complaining in other reviews about it taking too long to get their food, well, it's made to order from scratch or baked fresh (if they need to bake more). And honestly good things are worth waiting for! Also being that it's not a big establishment, I can see how an influx of customers can cause a delay in orders coming out. So, a bit of patience is surely appreciated.
I'm sure I'll be back every time I come downtown. Especially for picadillo when it's on the menu and some frozen cafe con leche in the summer.
Food — amazing! Such a tasty and filling sandwich and a great coffee. I love it!
Experience — gosh, if it’s crowded, please consider you will wait for your order for 20-30 mins at least, it would be okay if there is a space to wait or if you can take over the table but usually you can’t since the place is very busy. I feel like the order management could be more effective.
Overall, the vibe and the food vs the pricing was so good that i will rate it as a 5 star👍👍👍
Awesome place!!! I have such a good experience every time I come in, and it's often :) Great people, great food, great vibes!!! I recommend this place to everyone on campus all the time!! (Pictured is the cuban breakfast sandwich with avocado)
