I had one of the rudest experiences ever while traveling here. Nice place, horrible servicve. I felt like I was in california not Wyoming. Simply no want to accomadate a trveler with not effort required. Just not the way i was raised. Not sure where these folks are from, but definitely not from the small town I grew up in. Ended up sleeping in the yard of the local bar.
This was one of the best stays on our whole road trip! Would stay again
The place is nice clean and beautiful with amazing sunset view. I will definitely stay again if I have a chance to visit this place again
for one night this was a good place to stay, the tent i stayed at was comfortable and showers and bathroom was fine, though a bit of a distance if you need to walk there at night. The only small glitch was that there was no staff around, they did call me a few hours before arrival to give me instructions, but in my experience when the landlord/owner is not living there themselves on the site problems start to arise. Overall I liked this place, recommend it. Be aware that there is no gas station or much of a food around. The tent itself was really nice, with a nice view of the sunset, (early afternoon it is pretty hot inside), you can also start a fire in front of it, there was a fire pit there.
Absolutely terrible customer service. Made this reservation by mistake while trying to find a place close to the town we need to travel to for a funeral. Never have been around this area. Tried to cancel within 12 hours and they will not budge on the refund. Even though we had spoken with a lady who said she would, but when contacted by the hopper booking app, they refused. We are already heartbroken about grandma's funeral, now we're out of our lodging money. Hope they feel good about that. Where is the compassion?
Very cute little campground that is well maintained. We stayed in one of the glamping tents. It was comfortable and had a lovely view from the deck. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The staff (possibly owner?) that we spoke to was friendly and resolved the only issue that we had right away. Would absolutely stay again!
Stayed here 2 nights in the Glamping tent and I enjoyed my stay! Very peaceful and gorgeous sunsets over the field. If I’m ever in the area again I’d definitely stay again!
Had a great stay, stayed in a queen suite cabin. It was like brand new, clean and comfortable. Owner very nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
The tent and glamping is nice, too bad the guests are aloud and have loud parties. There's no one to contact about it. It's more peaceful in the city. Pretty expensive place to have to listen to people being loud all night.
Let me start with this … the cabin was beautiful. Bed was comfortable -amenities all new and working well. However, I did not like the fact that no one was onsite when we arrived and no one was onsite the next morning. Everything was through a drop box. And there was no way to contact anyone even by phone. The campsite had only 2 other campers in small RVs- no other cabins were occupied - this meant the campsite was desolate in a remote town with no amenities. And then the worst of all … in the middle of the night my husband and I were awakened by someone pounding on our door. A woman was telling me “ it’s an emergency” I told her I would not open my door. She told me a ridiculous story that something had happened to her car on the mountain and she wanted help getting to a gas station - at 1 am in a town without a gas station. Thank told her I would not help her and go ask one of the others at the site. Meanwhile I called 911. Told them I was scared because the place is desolate. They told me they would get dispatch and send someone and would call me back. No one came and they never called back. The next morning I asked the 2 other parties if she had pounded on their doors. She had not. It was a highly creepy suspicious situation. We had no one we could contact. I sat up all night wondering whether she would come back - and hoping police would arrive. I was thankful when morning came and the other campers were outside so we were in the company of others and we left immediately. This was an intolerable situation. Under the circumstances I would never recommend this place.
Great cabins with restrooms and AC ... The campground though, is packed in like sardines. No way could we get our 40' (never mind the dinghy) in the perpendicular sites (not even are they diagonal) to the already narrow drive. Next morning a 5r had to have 2 cars moved and the moho next to him had to pull up just so he could wiggle out (he had 4 spotters)
This was a small spot in the big horn National park. Pretty place but there are problems. WiFi sucked. I was at the farthest end from the office so that could have been why. But I was also 25 ft from the dumpster. I was there Thursday through Sunday and the dumpster was piled high. I had a few flies in my trailer 😕. The actual office/store was closed which sort of felt like no one has a handle on what was going down there. Several cabins, 4-5 tents that are not yurts and do not have AC (it was in the high 90s during the day) but are very nice. Laundry was one coin op washer and one coin op dryer and there was a line. Pretty place with a fire pit and a beautiful grassy lawn no t mobile service but that’s not really their fault. Two showers in the ladies room but no place to change privately like most campgrounds have and the curtains we a little too short so water was always on the floor of the toilet stall next to the shower. Toilets have a small hook and eye closure which failed as I say doing my business and another woman came in. She just yanked the door open. Embarrassing for all. It does look like they may be remodelling as the Windows look to have been replaced but not finished on the inside of the bathroom. I hope they frost the windows.
Stayed in a "glamping" tent, not worth it. Pitch your own tent for cheaper as the set up ones let bugs in like crazy and dont even have the decency of a fan. Alright bed if the insects and heat let you get any sleep. Bathrooms generally cleaner than most campgrounds but worn out.
The campground is cramped to say the least. The oddest set up ever. No way would I ever stay there again. Over priced and NO customer service. I witnessed them turn away a camper when there were still sites available for the night. Anyone over 5’10 can look right into the showers through the windows. Seriously. Could go on and on and on but no need. There are far better options in Cody.
A large group of us stayed for a week some campers, some cabins. It is a great place!! We are all going back again next yr. We were there to 4 wheel.
Got in late very comfortable bed beautiful cabin very peaceful. Hard to find at 1am.
Our long weekend at Shell Cabins + Campground was amazing! Our cabin was clean and cozy. The amenities of the campground were great and as promised. We also loved the food and service at the new Shell Store! Absolutely a don’t miss. 😊
We got one of the 50 RV spots. What made the place nice to visit were the owners. They were very kind and helpful.
Very unpleasant owner/people running Shell Campground. Recommend avoiding this one!
Beautiful quiet little place. We weren't able to get there before the office closed so they will leave your info in a mailbox. We loved the Big Horn mountains on one side and stream on the other. Glamping at its best!
