My brother and I came in after a day of fishing, sat down and ordered 2 sandwiches and a one trip salad bar. There were only a few people in there when we first got there and were told by our waitress that this was her first night... ok. After we had got and ate our salads two other groups came in and sat close to us. One group of four ordered steaks and the other group, a couple ordered chicken fried steaks. At about the half hour mark I stared wondering what was taking so long and then I noticed the other waitress that had been helping the new girl was gone.. nowhere to be seen! Then the two other groups that came in after us by 20 or more minutes and ordered steaks and chicken fried steaks got served their meals, this was at about the 50 minute mark I asked what was taking so long and was assured ours was on it's way....another 10 minutes and finally we were severed. The French dip I ordered looked like they went and got it from Arby's. The meat was dry and not what I would expect for a "Cowboy Dip". I took my sandwich up to the counter and asked to talk to the manager/cook, and said "I waited an hour for this while the other tables around us were all served steaks they ordered after us"... He shrugged his shoulders and said SO!! Had we not had the salad we would have left before... Local with a bad attitude and just don't care. paid bill, left new girl her tip... won't be back... terrible service!

New owners. Hit and miss on breakfast quality. Friendly staff , on the ball bringing you what you need and ask.

The worst experience at a restaurant. Several people in the group felt this way. It is too bad because this historical place is so beautiful inside. The food is awful. Burgers are overcooked, fries taste like they are from last week. We asked for more fries as they weren't edible. The new fries were honestly slightly better but still I only ate a couple as I needed something for food. Others had steak, not good. Anyways, I wish we read the reviews before stopping at this cool historic spot.

Food was very tasty but steak was small, overcooked on outside and undercooked on inside. Salad bar was unattractive, browning lettuce. Portions were also small for price.

I’m pretty easy to please and have never left a negative review about food. Usually, if it’s good enough then fine. However, everyone’s food at our table was cold (not lukewarm, actually cold), server was nice but forgetful and neglectful, salad bar was picked over with nothing but white iceberg lettuce (no green lettuce anywhere). And certainly overpriced considering all the quality we didn’t get. If was pointless to bring our concerns up to server as she already wasn’t following up with basics like who had what and refilling drinks—half of our party couldn’t get a refill beyond their first fill. I did, however, share my concerns with the cashier and she was nice and apologized and said she’d tell the kitchen. However, no discount was given nor was the manager brought out to address our concerns. 7-2-22, party of 6, slow night, most tables were empty so it wasn’t busy. The tables have notes asking for reviews, so I did (I opted out of asking for the free dessert that comes with leaving a review). I would recommend this places fixes all the 1-2 star reviews concerns I read here (who seem to have similar experiences) before they ask for more reviews.

Out of cold tea. Did not know what sides they had. 30 minutes after ordering, waitress came back to tell us they were out of two of our the 5 things we ordered. Fried burnt. I ask for BLT no mayo, sub mustard. Brought with mayo on it. Sent it back. THEY SCRAPED OFF THE MAYO AND SERVED IT AGAIN with half the bacon missing and mayo still on the bread and lettuce and on the side of the plate.

The best thing about it was the horseradish. Seriously, the entire meal was cold, the charge for $1.99 each for sauted mushrooms and onions was very scanty, and even when I sent it back to heat up, it still came back luke warm. The hamburger steak was tasty, but the rest was terrible. My husband had the prime ribs, and once again, the sides were all cold. He said is was like a Vegas buffet...just mediocre. There was no salt and pepper which I guess was not a huge deal but after they "warmed" my plate, the.corn...still not warm, was very bland. Didn't end up eating the corn nor the potatoes. The waitress wa very good though, so there's that.

We ate there Saturday 4/9/22. The service was great, Sierra was very friendly and quick to bring our requested items. However, THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. My husband's burger was overcooked, my daughter's chicken strips were overcooked, the two other people at our table ordered the tenderloin and received a very thinly sliced cut of sirloin, that was full of FAT. My baked potato was under cooked and super hard, i couldn't even eat it. We did not ask for a discount or for any of our food to go back- we will just never eat there again. Ever. It used to be really good food, i'm not sure what has happened.

We ordered takeout the staff was friendly but the meal was very small. I ordered the sage rosemary chicken that was supposed to come with rice and vegetables, what I received was half a chicken breast, no rice and one lone asparagus. The food tasted good and maybe the portions would be better if you ate in person.

We arrived in Afton around 9PM and stopped at Colter's Lodge to find a room and have a bite to eat at Valleon's as we had been on the road a long time. Our waitress, Aspen, suggested Lazy B down the road as we weren't able to stay here. The experience with their Staff at this restaurant was exceptional and their food was very, very good. I had French Onion Soup which was the best I have had in a long time and not over salted. My Husband enjoyed FISH and Chips which was very tasty and had a crispy and light breading. We also returned for Breakfast and again both Staff and Food were outstanding. Their Bisquits and Gravy is the best. We will definitely eat here again !
