Always calm, very sweet staff, I usually just get coffee, but unfortunately the men’s bathroom was a little funky.

I was excited to try the food based upon family recommendations, the food didn't disappoint me. The cook was very pleasant. Definitely while in Wisconsin, I will come again.

Receptionist rude and waited an extra 40 minutes on top of a 30 min wait ……

Such a great black cultural experience❤️. Even if you don’t order the food, which I didn’t, I enjoyed just getting a coffee and taking in the ambiance.

Nice diner style restaurant that celebrates black culture. Good food, although the lack of unlimited refills is the only thing I can find them on. Great raspberry lemonade!
First time here & it was really great. Staff was friendly & our server was amazing; she made sure we were well taken care of. Food was delicious, shrimp & grits for me & the chicken & waffle for my cousin. Would definitely recommend if you've never been here to check 'em out
I used to visit here faithfully every weekend. Unfortunately due to super long wait times, not so good food anymore, and my order being messed up almost everytime the last 8 visits, I have to find a new place to support. Very very disappointing. Seems like the place went down hill smh
Very unprofessional , I ordered eggs sunny side up and received scrambled, went back for a refund and was told they only had scrambled and didn’t kno , and would not give a refund , proceeded to walk away from a calm conversation knowing she was in The wrong . Confused the whole time as to even made the order in her face. Horrible experience leaving with cold unwanted food
Really good food and good prices. Had the chicken and waffles special and the French toast breakfast with coffee. Our server was kind and helpful. All around, would recommend!
I’ve gone here several times both for dine-in and to-go orders. Today’s to-go order was, by far, my last for quite some time. I placed an order online at 10:40 with a pickup given of 11:21. I got to the restaurant around 11:30 to allow some extra time as I know that they are slow. After waiting approximately 15 minutes I asked the status and was told they were still working on it…asked again 10 minutes later and was told the salmon croquettes had to be remade and the timer said they’d be ready in about 2 minutes. I didn’t get my food until another 10 minutes later. No one communicated with me that the food needed to be remade nor was there any communication upon arrival that it would take extra time. As much as I love to visit this establishment, I won’t be returning until it’s confirmed that they can cook orders in a timely fashion. I was not offered an apology or anything of the sort for the inconvenience. My biggest gripe was the lack of communication! Communicating the status of what’s going on could save a lot of headache and allow your patron to choose differently. Please do better!!!!

Husband and I decided to grab some breakfast this morning. We saw that they had catfish on the menu so we tried it. Absolutely the worst decision we made fish was disgusting taste like bottom of the ocean and they serve us one filet smh. We also order cheese eggs and potatoes thumbs down that as well. Our toast was tough HOW? Why? I'm doing this review that to discredit the restaurant but make aware that some more training needs to be done in that kitchen.
I have been here 4 times over a 1 1/2 year period. Each time, the restaurant wasn't busy and the service was so slow. It usually takes 5 minutes to get acknowledged by a server. The most recent trip it took 45 minutes to get food. For breakfast, that's ridiculous. Though I want to support this business, especially since it's in the area and black owned, I don't want to continue going to a place where the service is meh and the kitchen is slow. There's also not a kids menu.
Went in today ordered right away, I waited a hour and 15 minutes. While waiting I seen 4 other customers get there food before me that ordered after me and I just left. I wouldn’t attend here ever again!
