Coffee was great, but 1 worker with line to the door made the wait to order long and even longer to get our drinks. This isn't far on the worker. Waited over 20 minutes for coffee.
I tried grace coffee Middleton this morning 5/6/23 at the prompt of a friend ... let me tell you... it was so weird... the staff was so unfriendly... they looked sad- depressed- and did not want to talk... I mean while taking an order... not even chit chat... Then- the guy making the coffee (red curly hair- white hat- green shirt- black glasses) put one coffee on the counter and my friend asked what it was... he had so much animosity towards us as if we had done something to him... he was so nasty and refused to answer... just looking at us with hate in his eyes... So I asked him very overly politely what drink was on the counter and he mumbled something I couldn't hear clearly .... he was just an absolute jerk and then he was so annoyed for some unknown reason that he walked away from the counter... I guess a patron asking what drink he just made was just over the top and too much for him🤷♀️ So a girl who had been next to him also with the sad depressed look was also very cold ... she finished making the drinks and also did not want to talk to us no matter how friendly & apologetic we were being for asking a simple question... it was such a Bizarre situation... I have no idea what was going on with them but they do not have to worry about ever seeing my face again... there are too many other nice coffee shops to choose from... I don't need to put up with that kind of foolishness!✌️
If you want a delicious pastry with your coffee.... the everything croissant is mouthwatering.
Pathetic service. No process around the customer experience. Stood in line for 15 minutes Sunday morning for a single togo cup of coffee. Food is marginal at best. I have frequented both locations in Verona and Middleton. In need of an overhaul around experience, quality of food beverage and price.
Grace coffee in downtown middleton is a good local coffee place. Good atmosphere and energy in this place…possibly due to all the millennials and Z’s who seem to form the bulwark of the clientele! The space is lovely, with bright sunshine through the windows, beautiful artwork on the walls, and the gorgeous live edge black walnut table surfaces throughout the restaurant. Customers tend to camp out for longer periods of time at Grace and it is often the case the seating is that a premium. The beverages are good… I tend to think that they over ice their drinks, which makes them a poor value, but flavors are good. Their pastries are the bomb! Super good, super lovely, super rich! And their entrées are very flavorful. Counter service is poor… Slow… Very very slow… And the staff at the counter does not seem heavily engaged with the customers, but the orders are generally accurate.
Cute. Fantastic smoked salmon sandwich. I love the decor and the staff was very helpful.
While I enjoyed what I ordered, my regular black coffee was $4! And the sizing is rather small. I just couldn’t get over the prices. But at least the workers were more friendly at the Middleton location. I have tried East Wash and Sun Prairie and felt so unwelcome. Just seems like their pricing is meant to attract a certain clientele and isn’t really somewhere everyone could afford to go on a regular basis. The baked goods I like, which is why food is so up there and despite the uppity-ness that the prices and other parts about it just scream, I really like the decor, etc. Just seems like it echoes and is so loud for what I am used to in a coffee shop.
This place is my go to breakfast spot in Madison. The food is unbeatable, even their basic breakfast (eggs, toast, sausage, and breakfast potatoes) is really good. Would reccomend getting the almond croissant whenever it's available, it's hand down the best almond croissant I've ever had. The portions are huge too (bakery and meals)! The coffee is hit or miss to me. I still haven't found exactly what I like getting here. Their espresso tastes great, but sometimes my lattes end up tasting a little watered down. Would reccomend trying their cold brew or one of their specialty drinks!
Wide variety of tasty pastries as well as breakfast and lunch dishes along with your beverage. Very efficient staff! Packed on Saturday morning!
I ordered a cappuccino and my wife had a matcha latte. My drink was okay, not great but fine. A little over extracted for my liking. My wife liked her latte and LOVED her cinnamon roll. The icing on it was fluffy and not overly sweet. Definitely recommend going there for the cinnamon roll.
Just moved into the area and gave Grace a try. Was super excited about it and loved the atmosphere! …unfortunately things went downhill from there. My girlfriend ordered the cinnamon stuffed french toast, but when it arrived it was not stuffed with icing like stated on the menu. I ordered the berry french toast and it was identical, other than brown sugar sprinkled on hers. Mind you, there is a $2 difference between these on the menu. It was decent, but not as stated on the menu and neither of our dishes contained a dusting of powdered sugar. We were also given a quite obviously used dirty knife with our silverware. Both got coffee as well which was meh. Altogether it ran just under $40 for two subpar french toast dishes and small cold brew coffees. Really disappointing to say the least, but hopefully this was just some freak mistakes.
The food is good, but not great, and a bit on the pricey side. The atmosphere is very cool, but the customer service could be better.
Great coffee and pumpkin muffins. Very clean.
I asked for everything avocado toast, and I got soggy bread with gross old guacamole. A child could have made a better avocado toast. Have some pride and respect for your business .
This place is great. The atmosphere is perfect for studying, talking, or just chilling. Their croissants are to die for, and I’ve loved some of their other pastries and drinks. Would recommend if you want a quick snack at a fun place.
Great coffee shop. Very good food menu. Consistently high quality drinks
Grace is a favorite - always just exceptional service, food and coffee.
unfriendly vibe from the workers. no smiles. asked for cream in my cold brew and the guy rolled his eyes. then my plastic cup broke when I put the top on, so I asked for another one, laughed and said sorry. didn’t get a single smile and they acted like I was a burden. If i’m going to pay $22 for a BLT and cold brew… Give me a “you’re welcome” or a smile. Maybe it’s just the cloudy weather? 😂
My first visit to this location. Very clean and fancy interior. Great cup of coffee. Warm atmosphere.
I decided to give this location a shot despite the well known health code violations, but was very disappointed in almost everything. I couldn’t get ahold of anyone via phone or Facebook to determine whether I could bring my dog and eventually reached someone from a different Grace Coffee location who said most locations allow service dogs but will be lenient about others sometimes… well I got there and was told I couldn’t have my dog there, which is fine, I just wish someone answered the phone and saved me trip. Furthermore, my French toast took ages, when my to-go buzzer finally went off I went over to where the kitchen is and stood there for five minutes before eventually just digging for my own to go box; no signage or help offered. Finally, I saw one of the wait staff picking food out of someone’s dish (presumably because the chefs made a mistake) and then still serving it to someone. The food and coffee was good, I will say, just lack of quality and care of service it seems.
