Who puts a flag out to say you're closed?!?! When you're driving by, the wind is fluttering the flag, you're looking for a place to park, navigate other traffic...only to find the door locked. Then I could see the flag said closed but not until I was right next to it. I think that attracting attention to say you're closed in that manner is just silly. Edit: Hey, thanks for taking the time to reply that's great. Just wish you hadn't done so to take a swipe at me about your Temporary closed status online. As someone who has vacationed in the area for 25+ years, I do not bother searching the internet BEFORE stopping by. I do so when I'm in the area. That being said, I wish you had acknowledged the validity of my complaint. There are far better options to achieve what you're trying to do than an attention grabbing flag. You could have a light up closed sign. You could have one you tape onto your door. You could have a sandwich board - Sorry we're closed in large print, then in smaller print "stop by soon and see our improvements!" How's that for a fab idea? Then people in the area strolling around will be excited to come see. Well, unless they read reviews first and see you'd rather take a swipe at someone than show appreciation to someone took their time out of their day to THOUGHTFULLY share their experience and frustration at your (unfortunate) choice of flag to fly. So, good luck with your reno/revamp whatever it is. Hope you bring great things to the area, I love Lakewood and want to see it flourish.
In a word, they are AMAZING! They have an excellent and unique menu, for both breakfast and dinner. Includes lots of handmade, organic, locally-sourced food. Check their Facebook page as their menu rotates often. I've never been disappointed... Much more likely to struggle narrowing your choice to one meal than to not find something great to eat! Excellent homemade old-fashioneds and a great wine and bourbon selection in the evenings. Coffee is outstanding and always some great homemade syrups for their lattes. Great selection of homemade pastries etc in the mornings and macarons, cakes, etc in the evenings.
Great place, great food and coffee in an unlikely location.
Great food and the BEST Old Fashioneds! Looking forward to stopping by again.
Great food, great people. Very small, but I'll come back again.
A true gem in the north woods. Unique atmosphere and amazing food options that change regularly. Wonderful alternative to traditional “up north” pizza/fish fry/burgers. Very reasonably priced for the portions provided. Excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Highly recommend.
Great restaurant in the Northwoods! Nothing like it north of Green Bay. Wonderful food, attentive service and great atmosphere. We will be back!
If you're familiar with Braise in Milwaukee, you're as excited as we are that a place like Braise North opened up in this neck of the woods. Carefully crafted and thoughtful dishes that constantly change, an amazing wine menu, the best whiskey selection north of Green Bay, and unbeatable coffee and breakfast in the AM (we have plenty of really amazing greasy spoons in the area, but this is an entirely different and refreshing ballpark that brings a welcome change to the Northwoods breakfast standard we all know and love). To top it off, the take home meals and small shop are great for grabbing something fun to go. We will absolutely be spending many nights and mornings exploring their offerings. Gratz on the open! Welcome to Lakewood!
We took friends for their first time. As usual very very good. Our friends were dutifully impressed.
An amazing spot for both breakfast and dinner. It will blow your mind how amazing the food is that Dave cooks . Becki always gives a warm welcome and is a master barista. We are very lucky to have this spot in Lakewood!
Great food and great owners
I so enjoyed the breakfast sandwich with the everything bagel smoked salmon and scallion cream cheese. The cafe is very pretty and the owners are so welcoming!
Definitely not for everyone…went there for breakfast, was a little overpriced and not a lot of variety…this feels like more of a Milwaukee spot then up north…
Wonderful wine and coffee bar with quaint atmosphere and friendly/personal welcoming by the owners make this the perfect stop while in the Northwoods!
