We each had a taco salad. Large portions and very fresh. I wish I had saved room for some of the delightful home baked from scratch pastries! Cute place, it felt like my grandma's home. Service was friendly and informative.

Couldn't wait to leave this review. Eric and Mellany are wonderful hosts and Mellany has a gift for cooking and baking. The burgers were fantastic! We also bought 3 pastries after lunch and they didn't make it home, they were too good not to eat in the car! See you guys next time.
My wife and I love Mellany's bakery. We've brought family and friends here when they were in town visiting us. Today we had split pea soup with thick cut bacon and croutons the soup was hearty and delicious. My wife had a BLT that she keeps coming back for. It's one of her favorite sandwiches or lunch items in 2 counties. I had a Philly Burger it had grilled onions and roasted peppers and a nice horseradish Mayo sauce with a side of Aju dipping juice. It was absolutely delicious. There's Eric's meatloaf sandwich on the board as a special that I'll have to go back up and try next. We also have delightful conversation with owner, Mellany and coworker Eric. Talked about life and food. To top off the afternoon, they brought out a couple pieces of bacon for our dogs. We love Mellany's Bakery.
Usk has a gem! Good, simple, delicious lunches. Super nice service and an adorable dining room. I wish I had room for a treat after lunch, yummy selection of pastries.
This place is amazing! A hidden gem for gluten free eating, for sure. I've never been disappointed with the food, the atmosphere, or the friendliness of the owner and employees. This experience represents small town diners flashback from an earlier era - their pride in their business shows and is greatly appreciated!
Best baked pastry ever!
My sister has raved about this place so we decided to tryit on 2 bake and take pizzas. Ordered at 11:00 for pick up at 4:00. The carnivore for hubby and Danzia Hawaiian for me. Looked yummy on the menu. He came home with two pizzas that had cheese and a few pieces of small pieces of bacon between both. No pepperoni, sausage carnivore type stuff for him. Mine had no pineapple, peppers etc for me. He said that’s all that was there before they closed. 2 pizzas left.Maybe they ran out of ingredients? Disappointing for the price. Hope they make it

What an amazing gem hidden away in the tiny town of Usk, Washington. Food was amazing and fresh, including the soups. Salads and the pastries. Burgers were delicious and unique, not even close to the average place. It had just opened when we got there and after we ordered several people had come in for pastries, lunch and take out. Kind of a strange little building, not obvious but definitely worth the trip, thanks Mellany

Went for a drive and searched places to eat near us and found this place. It exceeded our expectations! Food and pastries were excellent. Customer service was top notch and it was nice they served us outside at one of their picnic tables. Definitely recommend and plan to stop next time we’re passing through.
Completely unexpected! World class fare and service! Everything homemade, owners are VERY attentive and responsive! Will definitely return!
If you find yourself in Newport, I recommend making the 15 mile drive to this bakery! They have some of THE BEST pastries ever! I most definitely recommend their cinnamon rolls, especially the huckleberry ones. They're served with a scrumptious glaze that'll definitely make you go back for more. You can call ahead and make an order and their friendly staff is more than happy to help in telling you their specials or what they recommend. They also have gluten free pastries! I have yet to try the food on their menu but I will make sure I update this once I've tried them. This is a cozy place with options of indoor and outdoor seating.
Absolutely LOVE these small little hidden jems...🤔I almost hate to review it in fear of it being...not too small.😆 When you first step in you are a little surprised how cozy the seating area is in comparison to how large the building looks from the outside. Once seated you get that cozy right-at-home feeling surrounded by eclectic country decor and locally made handicrafts and art for purchase. We arrived just about 15 minutes before they shut down for an hour and a half for changeover between 1:30 to 3pm and they didn't bat an eye or seemed put out over it. We were pretty hungry and decided to try a couple of things. We both ordered sandwiches. I had the sausage lasagna soup and macaroni salad. My partner got chili with all the fixings and a taco. The portions were very generous and we definitely did not leave hungry! Her soups are to die for and you can actually differentiate the taste of the sandwhich fixings! We also left with a pan of cinnamon rolls with oh so creamy icing on the side (no pic because she kept it in the fridge for me until we were ready to leave) and some day olds. Let me tell you, they didn't make it to day 2. 😬😅 There's a fun assortment of different bottled/canned refreshments in the cooler to choose from sure to satisfy any flavor craving. It's warming up now, she also boasts a huge covered deck with comfortable outdoor seating! Wifi is available as well although I didn't have time to test it because we ended up in delightful conversation with Mellany and her husband the whole time! Super awesome souls y'all! They are VERY accepting of all walks of folk so don't be shy, swing by!
Mellany and her staff craft some darn good food, which is second only to their service. It is worth the half mile side trip into Usk to experience this. Everything is prepared on site. And the traffic is usually light in Usk.
My wife and I split a bowl of chili for eight bucks and was an excellent way to end our snowshoeing trip. They have an awesome collection of hot sauces and good baked goods. I look forward to trying out more. The prices seemed quite reasonable to me.
