The owner was so discriminative. My first time in the shop, didn't know that boba tea was allowed to be in the shop. The owner was quite unhappy and gave me lots of attitude, even after I made a purchase and there was only one customer in the shop. You could have been nicer. To everybody not just white customers. Nobody needs your attitudes during a weekday. Will never ever be back again.
Unpleasant experience. The lady is mean. As I walked into the shop and made my order, the lady did not look at me at all. As I sit down waiting for my drink. She kept staring at me without any smile. It seems that I was not welcome. However, she seems friendly to some customers. The service made me so uncomfortable, confused, and a bit angry. I would never visit the shop again because of the service discrimination.
A fan of their custom espresso blend. Best coffee in Seattle. I wish I could give them six stars.
Very cozy small coffee shop with great coffee for a good price. The woman at the counter is very nice and service is quick. Definitely recommend stopping by.
Stop in here during my breaks at work. Cheddar bay biscuits are so yummy (ask to have them warmed). Service is super friendly. Not a student but seems like a quiet place to study. ☕ is great also.
Very cute cofffee shop to study at, pretty quite most the time. Coffee is amazing and cheaper than most places around the area. Owner is super nice and attentive. Wifi is fast!
Very friendly. My coffee taste delicious
Warm horchata on a cold day? Amazing.
Such a good place to study if you live close by & need to get out. The lady is super nice and very kind, she makes sure we were tended to, and offered to take our trash whenever she sees them. She always has a big smile on her face. Their muffin is very mochi-like, and coffee is decent! Overall affordable & home like. Nothing fancy, good environment to just study quietly/grab sth on the go.
Jakes Coffee: this was my beloved coffee shop, near the apartment I lived in, from October 2019 to November 2021, in the University District of Seattle. The owner always greeted me with a smile, and would say, "My friend," when I walked in the door. I sure miss her, as she was a huge comfort, in the midst of the crisis I was in, while I had to relocate to Seattle, from Alaska, trying to seek much needed medical care, related to bowel and pelvic floor. She makes the best Americano in all of Seattle!!! I will always be sad that I didn't even get to say 'Goodbye.'😥 Jake's Coffee, on 47th, in the University District - 1116 NE 47th Street; Seattle, WA 98105 ~ Cindy Bergeson
The place is small and homey. The coffee was okay, but the blueberry muffin was pretty outstanding (fresh blueberries, and not too sweet muffin). The prices are very reasonable. The barista was very polite and kind.
I liked the quiet music and atmosphere, but the lady working there looked annoyed when I asked for tap water and the bathroom. Coffee was decent, a bit costly if you get milk subs ($1 extra), the $3 muffins looked good tho might get that next time
Jake’s Coffee is a UDistrict hidden gem. The espresso is good and comes out quickly, and is also one of the cheapest options in the area. There are some non-espresso options available and pastries/small snacks that are made fresh every morning. The drinks are on the sweeter side, but it’s very easy to ask for adjustments— the owner is very accommodating. It’s the perfect place to study if you want a lowkey, quieter spot. There are many outlets and free wifi, plus you can sit by the window if you prefer natural lighting. The owner is very kind and shows a lot of care for her customers, especially the regulars.
Awesome hidden gem! Homey coffee shop that sells classic drinks and unique flavors like Snickers mocha. The sugar level is PERFECT! Was expecting a snickers mocha to be a tad to sweet but every ingredient blends well. Will definitely come back to try their matcha latte (most popular) drink.
Was looking for an early morning place to grab coffee and light food before a meeting. Employees were lovely and it all was delicious :D the muffin especially was fresh, fluffy, and tasted like the blueberries were so good.
This was my favorite coffeeshop to go to in all of UDistrict for the last two years living here. I have now moved and miss it every day. The woman who runs this place is so kind and the prices are great. Perfect for someone who wants a low-frills place to be productive, read a book, or watch the rain out the many windows with a warm latte.
i walked in here the morning of 10/28/22, wasn’t greeted by the barista at all then waited 5 minutes for said barista to turn around from facing the wall being on their phone and they never once turned to see who was in the shop. so i left. do better.
one of the best iced lattes I’ve had in seattle
Great: Matcha Latte w/oat milk. My favorite drink and it's excellent here. Good: Vibes inside! Overall nice earthy tones and a productive environment. Needs Improvement: Service. I think a paying customer should be able to get free water with no issue.
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. But neither the espresso nor the drip coffee was great.
