This place i do adore. Lovely people, local artists always adorning the walls, but the coffee, its just to die for.
Good coffee (thus 2 stars) but service is not good. I’ve spent too much time waiting in line as a barista has social hour with a friend/patron way beyond what is acceptable. Last time I was there it as so ridiculous (I was one of 2 in line and both baristas had social hour with a friend while I stood there waiting and finally left). I supported this neighborhood coffee shop through covid, but will be buying my beans and pastries somewhere else.
Coffee is good and employees are exceptionally nice people
The coffee is consistently delicious. The staff are friendly. The shop displays wonderful art. It can get crowded, so I usually get my coffee to go.
This is the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life. Also the service is great! The barista suggested I get their Mexico beans and I’m really sad the bag is gone. I wish they did international shipping. I miss them everyday!
The fresh coffee beans and coffee are full of strong favors and very tasty, I m highly recommend this
This coffee shop has the best taste and price for delicious drinks. The staff is very friendly, fast service makes you feel like they really care about their customers' happiness!
This place is awesome! Great coffee!
Pastry was good. Coffee was very good. Service was very good.
Ok, ok, ok, ok. First an admission: this is my weekend spot for fancy coffee (lattes). The espresso is delish, and roasted in Seattle. Friendly and fast service. Seriously, the Hermikers (as I call them) are a delight. Food is limited to pastries, but IT'S A COFFEE SHOP! Go get your food someplace else. If you want an excellent espresso beverage to start your day or just a cup of coffee to keep you going: go to Hermiker.
Many of Seattle’s coffee shops went paper/plastic cups after the pandemic, and I’m so glad Herkimer returned to porcelain cups. Love their buiscuit and cappuccino. Big table to sit and read. Fast and easy internet. I like the soft rock music they play. A laid back neighborhood place with soft spoken barista.
Honestly, the coffee itself is really good. Pastries too. And the location is good. And the people are chill. Sort of a perfect little hole in the wall in a perfect spot.
White customers were getting treated much better then minorities. Hope that's more clear. Lots of times white businesses make bad coffee for black and brown people so they don't come back. That's what they did to me, and it worked, I won't be back and neither should you.
Nice place. It would be a better place if some creepy customers did not keep baristas busy with personal conversation so that it would be a faster service!
Great service, enjoyable environment and delicious coffee. Was a little disappointed with the pb cookie, as it didn't taste very peanut buttery, but great crum and not overly sweet. Everything looked lovely!
This is a cute little coffee shop that serves amazing drinks as well as sells amazing coffee. They have a great collection of some single origin coffee and they also carry their own blends. You can buy whole beans or get it ground from the cafe itself. It’s my first time purchasing beans from here and I really like the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. The baristas are pretty friendly and knowledgeable about the coffees they sell so ask away any questions you may have. The art work and the rustic interior theme also makes it very nice to work or read a book at the cafe. Downside is that it’s a small cafe but that should not be an issue if there’s few people sitting in the cafe to begin with.
Best coffee in the U district! My oat milk latte was smooth, earthy medium-roast and well made. Atmosphere was great for studying or just chilling.
Great coffee shop with very kind baristas! Highly recommend
Love Herkimer! The baristas are always friendly, the coffee is consistently good, and they offer some great baked goods.
I originally had stopped at Santo, another coffee shop up the road, but the atmosphere was a little too modern and sterile for me. I was looking at the baked goods section and it seemed a bit boring, so I decided to walk out and keep looking. I followed someone wearing a military jacket liner into Herkimer Coffee, and the vibe seemed a bit more my style. Still a heavy modern vibe, but smaller, and maybe a bit more proletarian, which I guess is my thing this morning. Anywho, the baristas were friendly and my single shot 8oz Americano is very smooth. The spinach brioche is a soft bread with a spinachy center, and cheese baked on top of the bread.. I think the brioche would have been better with maybe more cheese, or cut in half and buttered. There's a water filling station with both plastic cups, and paper to-go cups. Nice touch!
